If the self-reversals of those aspects are unwholesome, since they are the cause of wandering, if they must be established as wandering, then each also has previous karma, therefore wandering will be confused, and Arhats and those who have severed roots of virtue are also included in wandering, therefore they are not afflicted and are not prophesied virtuous, so they are merely unobscured and unindicated, and the sutras also separately explain the existence of karma. Some think it is merely the result of maturation, and some think there is also a little that comes from increase. The Sutra School says that there are also wholesome and afflicted ones. If it is a vessel, if the four continents must be counted as humans, then all five realms will enjoy it, therefore wandering will be confused, and the work done will be wasted, and one will encounter what has not been done, therefore it is called sentient being, because it wanders in accordance with karma, and the sutras say: Those who follow merit and sin, will wander according to karma. The commentary on the Uttaratantra says that there are two wanderings, of Dharma and of individuals. However, the intermediate state is not wandering, because the sutras say that there are seven existences, namely the five realms and karma and the intermediate existence, thus establishing them separately, and in the Designation it is said that the five realms do not include the four births, namely the intermediate existence, and in the Dharma Collection it is said, what is the eye, namely the eye of the five realms and the intermediate existence. The third has four, namely, explaining the seven abodes of consciousness, explaining the nine abodes of sentient beings, explaining the four abodes of consciousness, and explaining the fourfold distinction of seven and four. First, the sutras say that there are seven abodes of consciousness, namely, among the five realms, both body and perception are different, those born later in the desire realm and the first dhyana, body and color and shape and characteristics are different, and perception, namely thoughts, are different such as pleasure, pain, equanimity, etc. On such aggregates of sentient beings, relying on them in the manner of consciousness clinging, is the abode of consciousness. Body is different and perception is the same, those born first in the first dhyana, body, namely Great Brahma and retinue, etc., measure and shape and speech and clothing, etc. are different, and perception, namely both also have the same perception of grasping Brahma as the cause of non-cause. Then how do the retinue see him making aspirations?

The first dhyana, remembering the previous state of one's own ground, is an innate memory, or, as the commentary says, because it is heard from that. Thus it is said. The opposite of that is that the second dhyana practitioners are one in the nature of the body of light, and the consciousness is the joy of the first dhyana, but because the mind is agitated, they are disgusted and enter the equanimity of the near concentration, and because of that disgust, they enter joy. Or, some are disgusted by joy, while some regard it as a virtue, and so on. The Sutra masters and others think that when the vessel of the first dhyana is burning, the young gods think that there will be fire there and are afraid, while the old ones who see the formation, duration, destruction, and emptiness are not afraid, which is the difference in consciousness. Those who are the same in body and consciousness are the third dhyana practitioners, who are the same in that the body is the nature of light and they regard happiness as a virtue. Those four and the first three of the formless realms, thus there are seven abodes of consciousness. The remaining evil destinies and the fourth dhyana and the peak of existence are not abodes of consciousness because they do not increase and expand consciousness, but have the function of destroying it. Because in the evil destinies there is the feeling of suffering, and non-perception, and the mind stream is cut off by cause and effect and the absorption of cessation. The second is that on top of those seven, adding the peak of existence and non-perception, the nine are the nine abodes of sentient beings spoken of in the sutras, because sentient beings naturally dwell in them with joy. Because they are involuntarily dwelling due to the demon of karma, the other evil destinies are not the abodes of sentient beings, like a prison. The third is that again, the sutras say that the abodes of consciousness that approach form, feeling, perception, and formation are four, and that is also because of the power of craving, and because consciousness does not rely on the aggregates of the uncontaminated and other grounds, so they are the four aggregates of the contaminated and only one's own ground. The Vaibhashikas think that by separately showing the abode and the dweller, they did not say that the dweller itself is the abode, just as the king himself cannot be indicated. Thus they think. The Sutra masters say that just like a boat and a sailor, because the two consciousnesses do not arise simultaneously. Thus it is said. The fourth is, then do the seven abodes of consciousness include the four, or do the four
