Karma is what immediately follows, these five, and from that, at the time of dying and taking rebirth, the two obscurations of the upper realm, which are seven minds. The second is, from the virtue existing in the form realm, other than the non-obscured of the formless realm, there are eleven, namely: one's own virtue is constant, the non-obscured and the obscured are both on the same ground, and when virtue is innate and one dies and is born in the three realms, the three afflictions of the upper and lower realms, and when arising from meditative absorption, the virtue of the desire realm, and when entering into emanation, the emanation mind, and at the time of meditative absorption, the virtue of the formless realm and the two uncontaminated ones. That arises immediately after the nine other than the afflictions of the desire realm, that is, when the obscurations of the formless realm are afflicted by afflictions. At the time of constancy and ground, one's own three, and at the time of meditative absorption, the virtue of the desire realm, and when arising from that, the virtue of the formless realm and the two uncontaminated ones, and when arising from emanation, the non-obscured of the desire realm and nine. Obscuration is when one dies from the afflictions of the desire realm and does not arise to a higher realm, and since there is no death from the two uncontaminated ones, it arises from the other eight, namely, one's own three and at the time of rebirth, the two of the desire realm and the three of the formless realm. It does not arise from the afflictions of the desire realm and the two uncontaminated ones, because one does not abandon the afflictions of the desire realm and take rebirth in the form realm, and it is impossible to arise from the uncontaminated to the obscurations of the form realm. From that, six minds arise, namely, one's own three and the first three of the desire realm. Non-obscuration arises only from the three of one's own ground, and from that, upon dying and being born in the desire realm and the formless realm, the three afflictions, that is, six arise. The non-obscuration of the formless realm is also the same, it arises from the three of its own ground, and from that, at the time of rebirth, the three afflictions of the lower realm. Because the combination of words is small, it is mentioned first. From the virtuous mind, nine minds arise, abandoning the virtue of the desire realm and the two non-obscurations of the lower realm, namely, one's own three and at the time of rebirth, the three afflictions of the lower realm, and at the time of arising and entering in reverse order, the virtue of the form realm, and at the time of meditative absorption, the two uncontaminated ones. That is the three of one's own ground and the two uncontaminated ones and the virtue of the form realm.

It arises after the six. From the obscured (consciousness), three of one's own realm arise, as well as the three afflictions of the lower realms at the time of rebirth, and when afflicted by afflictions, the virtue of the form realm arises, namely seven. Similarly, there are also three of one's own realm, as well as the two virtues of the lower two at the time of rebirth, and the two that are not obscured. Secondly, in terms of the uncontaminated, there are two types, the first being in terms of the learner. The learner arises from the virtues of the three realms and the four of one's own realm at the time of meditative absorption. From those four and the vajra-like samadhi, the knowledge of exhaustion arises, namely five. The second is in terms of the non-learner. The non-learner arises from those five. From that, consciousness itself and the virtues of the three realms, namely the four, arise. If it is said that the learner arises at the time of decline, that is not the case. Because consciousness itself is uncontaminated, it does not decline, but declines due to improper attention. Or, at that time, the learner only gains the attainment of the uncontaminated, but it does not manifest. Secondly, dividing consciousness into twenty types. If those twelve types of consciousness are divided, they can also become twenty. From the three realms, in the lower two realms, namely the intermediate state and the formless realm, at the time of rebirth, the attainment (of consciousness) occurs, for example, the attainment (of consciousness) after arising, and the attainment and manifestation depend on the combination of the combination-born, namely virtue is divided into two types, and after dividing into two types, there are six. It arises from the cause of maturation, therefore there is no need for effort, and it is the maturation-born of one's own object, as well as the deportment that focuses on the form, smell, taste, and touch of walking, standing, sleeping, and sitting, as well as the four objects of drumming, blowing, etc., and also the skillful means that focuses on the sound of the teachings of the learner, and the mind of emanation that focuses on the four objects at the time of thinking about emanation or emanation, namely in the desire realm, one is established by cause, and three are established by function, namely dividing into four types that are unobscured and non-specified, and in the form realm, containers and clothes, etc., arise naturally, therefore there are three excluding skillful means, and in the formless realm, there is only maturation-born. Therefore, there are eight in the desire realm, six in the form realm, four in the formless realm, and two uncontaminated, namely twenty. Or, eight virtues, four afflictions, and eight unobscured, namely twenty. Which has a wider scope, the twelve types of consciousness or these twenty?
