It is explained that it is because it is not specified. According to the treatises of reason, there is no conditioned phenomenon that is not included in matter and consciousness, and the temporary and the possessor of temporality are different opposites on the same substance. In short, saying that the aggregates are different also refers to the different opposites in the concepts of mind and its impermanence, etc. Therefore, the arising and ceasing of the mind, etc., are considered to be the nature of the mind, which is the general meaning. The meaning of the text is that the formations that are not in accordance with the mind, are not of the nature of form, but are compounded by causes and conditions are the basis of classification. There are fourteen types of classification: attainment and non-attainment, co-nascent and non-ideation, non-ideation and the two meditative absorptions of cessation, life and characteristics such as birth, and the aggregates of names and the aggregates of words and letters. Furthermore, the word "also" is used to include those that are actually indicated and those that have similar characteristics, such as the division of the Sangha, some are not included, and in short, the seven hundred non-corresponding formations are mentioned. The second part has seven: attainment and non-attainment, co-nascent, non-ideation, two meditative absorptions, life, characteristics, aggregates of names, etc. are explained in detail. The first part has three: the nature of attainment and non-attainment, who these two belong to, and the differences in their dharmas. First, the definition of attainment is the substance that causes the object to be attained to exist in the individual, such as the rope that makes the ox carry the load, or the glue that adheres. The meaning of the word is because it causes it to correspond with what should be attained. Fundamentally, there are two types: newly acquired and maintaining its continuity. From the perspective of branches, there are five types: such as the first undefiled attainment, which is newly acquired from never having been attained; such as the vows of meditative concentration, etc., which are the first moment of regaining what was previously attained after it has been lost, which is newly acquired from loss; the continuous maintenance of these two; and the afflictions of the peak of existence that ordinary beings inherently possess, totaling five. Non-attainment is the thing that becomes an obstacle to the attainment of what should be attained, because it causes it not to possess what should be attained. It is divided into three types: although there is the initial non-attainment at the time of the sixteenth moment, that is completely lost and not never attained, so it is the completely lost non-attainment; and not maintaining its continuity; and

Thirdly, ordinary beings do not possess the path at all. Some argue that when the Exhaustion Knowledge arises in dependence on non-attainment, the non-attainment of the afflictions of the Peak of Existence arises, which is the non-attainment of attainment that is superior to never attaining. This is what Nāgārjuna and his son said. As for the scriptural authority for attainment being substantial, the sūtra states: "If one attains and possesses the ten qualities of a non-learner, one becomes a noble being who has abandoned the five branches." The reasoning is that if there were no attainment, there would be no difference between noble beings with worldly minds and ordinary beings, and even among noble beings themselves. Therefore, the attainment of the undefiled path makes one a noble being, and non-attainment is considered the state of an ordinary being. Therefore, non-attainment is also substantial, because where attainment exists, it also exists. The scholar's view is that this is not reasonable, and the meaning of the scripture should be understood as merely obtaining mastery. For example, even if one does not attain the wheel jewel and so on, merely having mastery is like the sūtra saying that a wheel-turning king possesses the seven precious things. There are also objections: What is this "attainment"? If it is the cause of the arising of phenomena, it would become unconditioned, and it would also be unreasonable for the abandoned phenomena, such as the shifting of the earth and the separation from desire, to arise. What function would arising or the arising of arising perform? How could it be the cause of arising? If it is said to be the cause of distinguishing noble beings and ordinary beings, then this should only arise from abandoning or not abandoning the seeds of affliction. Furthermore, if it were substantial, it would logically become an object of valid cognition, but it is not apprehended by either of the two valid cognitions. Therefore, from the three of mastery, seed, and manifestation, the first two, existence and non-existence, are designated as attainment and non-attainment. Secondly, to whom do these two belong? Generally, attainment and non-attainment belong to phenomena that pertain to one's own continuum, because for phenomena that do not belong to the continuum of others or the continuum of sentient beings, the distinction of attainment and non-attainment cannot be established in one's own continuum. That is, this distinction is not established for external objects that are unrelated to the continuum. For example, a vase in the hand of Devadatta could immediately become the property of another, so it cannot be absolutely certain that it belongs to only one person, and the distinction of having or not having is impossible, and it becomes common, as well as the continuum of others.
