Now, although the noble ones of the third dhyana possess the unpolluted bliss, they do not possess it because they do not have the faculty of the body. For those who possess each of the faculties such as the eye, they possess their respective faculties and the three of body, life, etc. Those who possess five faculties, and those who possess mental happiness, also possess five. Other than the ordinary beings below the third dhyana, happiness in the desire realm possesses itself and the virtues and afflictions of the first and third dhyanas, as appropriate. In the first dhyana, it possesses itself and the third dhyana, and in the second dhyana, if the mind of the third dhyana is not attained, then it possesses the afflictions of the third dhyana, and if it is attained, then it possesses virtue. For the noble ones of the third dhyana, it possesses three including the unpolluted, and for the noble ones of the fourth dhyana and above, it possesses only the unpolluted. Those who possess suffering, the beings of the desire realm possess the four feelings other than displeasure, and the seven of body, life, and mind. Displeasure is not present in those who are free from desire in the desire realm, so it is not mentioned. Those who possess the female faculty, and the male faculty, displeasure, and the five of faith, etc., each of these eight possesses eight. The first three possess their respective faculties and the previous seven. Those who possess the five of faith, etc., possess the five and the three that are necessarily possessed. Among them, male and female refer to the male and female themselves in the desire realm, and hermaphrodites, and some intersex people, so it is necessarily based on the desire realm. Faith, etc., are possessed by all beings in the three realms other than those who have severed their roots of virtue. Those who possess the faculty of complete knowledge and those who possess the faculty of complete knowledge, because they exist in the three realms, so adding the nine bases and life and self, they possess eleven. Those who possess the faculty of making complete knowledge, possess the nine bases and the body, life, suffering, and self, possessing thirteen in total. This is based on the desire realm, so it possesses suffering, and if it is free from desire, then it does not possess displeasure, and if the eye is not obtained or lost, then add not possessing the eye, etc. If the male and female faculties are not complete, then the path of seeing will not arise, so one of the two must be added. Some say: If two occur, the vows will be abandoned, because it is not lost, so is it like that? Or because of the habituation of the path of joining, when the male and female faculties gradually disappear at the time of death, if the path of seeing arises, then it is not possessed. The former is acceptable, but the latter is not possible because the mind is not clear, so the path of seeing cannot arise. Some say: This is in general, when calculating what is necessarily possessed, male and female do not possess each other, and neither possesses both.

E ra ba legs so ma ha said so. The second is: How many faculties does one with few faculties have? Among all, one with few, whose roots of virtue are severed and non-existent, when the six form aggregates gradually cease, then they have body and five sensations, life, and mind, a total of eight. A formless child also has the same number of eight, namely equanimity, life, and mind, three, and the five good things and so on. The third is: One with many faculties has nineteen, namely all the remaining ones except the three immaculate faculties. That is also a hermaphrodite with complete other faculties. Even an attached noble one has nineteen because of unpleasantness, namely except for the single sign and the first, last, or the last two immaculate ones. Thus, among the six points, the first three and the last indicate common purification, the fourth indicates all afflictions, and the fifth indicates uncommon liberation. Second, there are two ways in which conditioned dharmas arise: the way in which form arises and the way in which formlessness arises. The first is: Do these conditioned things arise differently according to their different characteristics, or are there some that necessarily arise together? Yes, in the desire realm, without faculties and without sound, the accumulated fine dust, appearing as a small quantity with parts in the mind, the four elements of earth, water, fire, and wind, and the four derived elements of color, smell, taste, and touch, a total of eight substances, necessarily arise together. One with the body faculty arises together with those eight and oneself, a total of nine substances. One with other faculties, such as the eye, necessarily has the body as a basis, so on top of the nine, each one is added, a total of ten substances arise together. If "Goṃ (Tibetan, seed syllable), rṇaṃ (Tibetan, seed syllable), caṃ (Tibetan, seed syllable)" means that the eye and ear are together, then do eleven arise? What is said there about the two realms of snakes and bees is merely that from karma, two faculties are established in one object, so there are ten. If those have sound, then add one each. In the form realm, there are no two of smell and taste. In the form realm, one without faculties and fine dust without sound have six substances. Combine them like that. The second has two: brief explanation and detailed explanation. The first is: The basis of mind and mental factors necessarily arise together. The sutra says: Without what arises from the mind, the mind can never exist, like the sun and
