Being skilled in the sixty-two is being skilled in the realms. The verse is as follows: The realms such as the eye are eighteen, the four elements, space, and consciousness, five feelings and ignorance, the desire realm, hatred, and harm, renunciation, absence of hatred, absence of harm, and non-harming, thus three sets of six. The four aggregates other than form, the desire, form, and formless realms, the evil, intermediate, and excellent realms, the realms of cessation of form and formless realms, virtuous, non-virtuous, and unspecified, learners, non-learners, and neither, past, future, and present, thus there are six sets of three. The realms with outflows and without outflows, the conditioned and unconditioned realms, the realms are sixty-two. This summary should be applied accordingly. Second, what are space and consciousness like in the first set of six? Generally, there are three types of space, among which the space of apertures is called the space realm here. It consists of light blue appearances and dark, thick dust particles that appear in the mouth and so on. Therefore, its nature is something that can be harmed and has obstruction, and because it is located near obstructive things such as walls, it is called an obstructive proximity. Therefore, the sutra says, "This person is the sixth realm," so the Sarvastivadins say that it is only the space that sentient beings possess. To indicate the view of the Sutra school, it is said, "year." The appearance and darkness of the apertures are the form of subtle particles, and space is unconditioned, unobstructed, and free from tactile sensation. Therefore, it is called unobstructed proximity because it does not obscure other forms and is located near the form of accumulated things. Furthermore, only consciousness with outflows is the consciousness realm here, because the outflowless is what cuts off samsara, and this is said in the sutra to enter the mother's womb relying on the six realms, therefore it is said to be the basis for the birth of sentient beings. Among them, consciousness is the seed that connects the continuum, thus generating the unborn, the four elements are the basis, thus the born abides, and space opens up space, thus causing the abiding to grow. Why are only these two explained out of the sixty-two realms? There are three reasons: the teacher himself has already said and will explain, so he said "other."

Therefore, others are not shown here. Regarding this, the eighteen realms are the four elements, the three times of feeling, etc., are four, defiled and undefiled, conditioned and unconditioned, and the cessation realm, thirty-four have been explained. Thus it is said. And, the six groups other than earth, etc., and those abiding in the cessation of the three times, the three groups will explain twenty-six. These two are appropriate because they are not what has been said and will be said. However, it is not done for the purpose of explaining the meaning of the "Many Realms Sutra," but as an incidental explanation of arranging the structure of the treatise. Or, there is nothing else left over, but these two explain the four relative arising, so it is to make up for what is left over. Or, these two have wrong ideas, so it is to correct them. Third, regarding the detailed classification of the aspects of the realms, it is divided into two, the first is the necessity: in order to make the disciples proficient in the various aspects of the Dharma, and because of being proficient in it, to eliminate various doubts and universal bewilderment, thereby abiding on the cause of omniscience. The reason for analyzing only the realms is because one wants to understand in detail the Dharma relative to form and mind. Second, the actual detailed classification has seven: two groups, three groups, obstructive and non-obstructive, the classification of the form realm, the three arisings, the difference in attainment, the classification of inner and outer, etc. The first has two: indicable and non-indicable, tangible and intangible. The first is, that is, as it is said in the sutra: the eye is non-indicable but tangible. Explaining its meaning, what is indicable among the eighteen realms, and what is non-indicable? The answer is: pointing to this and saying this, what can be indicated to others here is the form realm, only one, the remaining seventeen are considered non-indicable. The definition is that what is completely separated from the common object and the basis can be indicated. Sound is not completely separated from the basis. Odor, taste, touch, and the five senses are not common to the five objects. None of the eight intangible ones are both. Although it is said so, if sound can also be said to have a loud sound, it can be indicated, so it will become indicable. Therefore, it is said in the commentary that generating the eye consciousness of others is indicable. As it is said, it can be indicated to the eye consciousness of others. The second is, regarding this, what is tangible and intangible? Among the eighteen realms, what is tangible is only the ten form realms, the remaining eight are intangible.
