Relating to similar types, and entering in direct and reverse order with dissimilar types, the distant ones and those who have crossed one ground and gone in direct order, and those who have come in reverse order are the near combinations, which are combinations. Then, the actual practice is said to be the crossing of eight, which is for those with sharp faculties. Therefore, here, proceeding to the third of the upper and lower with dissimilar types is the absorption of sudden transcendence. The basis is the intelligent people of the three continents, and the individual is only the unwavering one who is without afflictions and has mastery over samadhi. Fourth, on what basis do these samadhis of dhyana and the formless manifest? Generally, all are based on their own ground and the lower ground, but the lower samadhi does not manifest on the basis of the higher ground, because there is no need for that. The special indication is that in the peak of existence, the noble, uncontaminated samadhi of nothingness manifests, because after manifesting it, it causes the leakage of the peak of existence to cease, because the uncontaminated of one's own ground does not exist, and nothingness is near. Fifth, what are the objects of these samadhis? Those with craving, with feeling and corresponding, only focus on their own existence, and in the realm of virtuous dhyana, all conditioned and unconditioned things are permissible, so it is all. However, the object of practice of the virtuous actual practice of the formless is not the contaminated object of the lower ground, because it only focuses on its own higher ground. The object of the uncontaminated has been explained before. The object of the near attainment is the lower and lower ground. Sixth, the actual method of abandonment, the distinction of near attainment, and the special dhyana. First, from those, because it is the antidote to existence, the uncontaminated abandons the afflictions, and the purifier of near attainment also abandons the lower ground. The purifier of actual practice is the one who has already abandoned the lower ground, and the craving of this ground increases, and because it is inferior, it cannot emerge from the superior upper ground, so it cannot abandon it, but the word "also" indicates that the invincible uncontaminated can also abandon it. Second, the near attainment that causes entry into those eight actual practices is also eight, and the essence is the path free from desire, so one must strive to practice the purifier honestly and from the lower ground.

Is it neither happiness nor suffering because it is inseparable from renunciation? It is necessary to strive to be upright, because that is, and the two are the former. From the Abhidharma, the connection is one's own tenet because the eight have not equally established afflictions. If the first cannot be overcome, then there is also the noble path without outflows, because it has clarity or renunciation arising from its own ground, becoming the antidote of the upper ground, and to summarize, that is the first of equipoise, so it is. Some think that it is all three, pleasant feeling, painful feeling, and neutral feeling, that is, clarity itself? The Sanghatabhadra says that if it is mixed with the main practice, it will be confusing. The third is: Is the "special one" mentioned as being close to the first one or different? It is different, because the first itself has no conceptualization, so it becomes special, and focusing on one point only through analysis is a special meditation, so there is no second one, etc. That is the three aspects of purity, etc., and it is necessary to strive to be upright, so it has feelings that are neither pleasant nor painful, and the path is also difficult. Meditating on those pure ones has the fruit of the Great Brahma, although there are many, there is only one Great Brahma, because the others are uncertain, or it is a supreme birth. Secondly, dividing samadhi into three, dividing into three such as with conceptualization and with analysis, dividing into three such as emptiness, dividing into three such as emptiness emptiness. The first is: because the special one is shown to be only without conceptualization and with analysis, that below it is the approximation of the first, and the main part is the samadhi with conceptualization and analysis. Above the approximation of the second is the samadhi without both conceptualization and analysis. The second has the essence of division, that is the special explanation. The first is: emptiness, wishlessness, and signlessness are shown as antidotes to attachment to self and what belongs to self, craving for existence, and not wanting the cessation of existence. Signlessness is the samadhi that corresponds to the four aspects of cessation, focusing on the fourteen, which are the five objects, the four characteristics of conditioned phenomena, and the signs of male and female. Emptiness is that which has the aspect of entering into selflessness and emptiness, focusing on anything. Wishlessness is that which is other than that, the object is not to be wished for, the first two of suffering and the four of the origin, and like a raft, it is to be abandoned when entering without remainder, so the path is happiness.
