Regarding refuting disputes, if it is cut off for a long time for this reason, then from what does the body arise afterwards? In response, the Vaibhashika school believes it is the past body, some Sautrantikas believe that body and mind are mutually seeds, therefore, through the way of Vipaka, when the entry of mind is obtained, it is the seed of the body, the rational Sautrantikas believe it is born from the body. The Mind-Only school believes that the mind is born from the Alaya consciousness. Second, do the meanings of each word only refer to space, etc.? During practice, because the fourth dhyana is considered to have faults, one thinks that all dharmas are as boundless as space. Because the true meaning is accomplished from that, it is declared there. Later, it also refers to others, as the sutra says, "It is in all aspects," and so on. Similarly, because space is considered to have faults, one practices that all dharmas are only consciousness, therefore it is said that consciousness is boundless. What is the difference between this and the view of Mind-Only? Before the view is decided, it is only the practice of the ability of samadhi, even if one decides or briefly views it as consciousness, one is still attached to the skandhas and practices non-proliferation. Because consciousness is considered to have faults, it is said that non-existence is happiness, and it is declared there for the sake of such practice, and the difference between it and Madhyamaka is the same as before. Because non-existence is considered to have faults, the gross perception is refuted as disease, tumors, and pain, and it is called non-perception because it is subtle and inferior. It is believed that non-perception is completely ignorant, so it is not completely without perception, in short, because the practice of neither perception nor non-perception is happiness. That is also called the peak of existence. Third, the nature of the reality of samadhi has eight aspects, as mentioned above, namely the four dhyanas and the four formless absorptions. Third, to determine in common, to combine with the three samadhis, to determine the limbs of dhyana, the way to obtain samadhi, what relies on what to manifest, what is the object of focus, and what afflictions are abandoned. The first is that among those eight, the first seven have three aspects only from the perspective of name, namely the three types of tasting-like correspondence, purity, and non-leakage. The eighth, the peak of existence, has only two aspects, namely the mind is not clear and non-leakage is the main aspect of insight.

Because of being attached. Generally speaking, although there are meditations that are mostly composed of desire, views, pride, and ignorance, only saying that they have taste is from some scriptures, or it can be said that from the aspect of increase, only the meditation that is related to the object and is attached is afflicted, and others are not like that. Because one does not understand the liberation higher than this realm (desire realm), and thinks that only it is the most important, it becomes having taste. Having taste similar to these three is the samadhi accompanied by desire. The object of samadhi that is the nature of worldly virtue is called the pure one, because it has white dharma. What does having taste experience? The pure one that has just passed is the object experienced by having taste. Therefore, it arises from purity and enters into having taste. The uncontaminated is the object of virtue that transcends the world. Second, the actual limb, the difference of meditation, and the abandonment of disputes about these. First, the common statement, and the three separate statements. First, the first dhyana has five limbs: the unfavorable aspects, the desire, anger, and harm of the desire realm, and the five of suffering, unpleasantness, and agitation, the antidotes to cut them off are the three of mindfulness, awareness, and equanimity, but because they are entangled by the desire of joy, they are not expressed by their own names, but by their function—seeking and examining. The benefit is that by this, the unfavorable aspects are cut off, and the joy and happiness born from the quiet place are experienced, and the basis for making the two enter—the samadhi. The second dhyana has four limbs: the antidotes to cut off the five of the desire, seeking, examining, suffering, agitation, and incomplete samadhi of the first dhyana are the previous three, and there, because the disturbance of seeking and examining is calmed, it is expressed by the name of extreme clarity of the inner mind, and the other three of joy and so on are the same as before. The third dhyana has five limbs: the antidotes to cut off the four of the desire, unpleasantness, joy, agitation, and incomplete samadhi of the second dhyana are joy, effort, equanimity, and the memory of not forgetting its cause, and the wisdom that does not lose it, that is, the three of awareness, because they are free from the pervasive entanglement of joy, they are expressed by their own names, and the benefit is that the feeling of the mind is happiness, and the mind is made to dwell, so it is the limb of the dwelling of samadhi.
