Even the special ones are limited to that. In the first three formless realms, there are only the special one and two of the three branches of morality. Apart from the seven branches of enlightenment and the eight branches of the path, the rest exist in the desire realm and the peak of existence. Among them, in the desire realm, there are those who obtain names at the time of the joining and following of the path of accumulation and the noble path. It is believed that the sound proclamation is also included in the heat and peak. In the peak of existence, there are only those included in the joining and following, and they do not obtain names by faith, etc., which are in accordance with the merits. Then, how can there be mindfulness of the body in the formless realm, which does not focus on form? In the Ṭīkā, it says: "The object of practice is not the lower contaminated." This shows that it is uncontaminated. In the three grounds, the path has subsequent knowledge; in all four, with its application, the six meditations focus on the uncontaminated discipline. The fifth is that the meaning of the sutra saying "After knowing, four faiths arise" is: At the time of the path of seeing, when the first three truths are seen, the morality of the noble ones rejoicing arises; and after manifestly knowing the truths of each dharma, faith in them is obtained; after realizing the path truth, the Buddha of the path of no more learning, and the Sangha arising from seeing the Dharma, also obtain faith. Also, the word "also" shows that faith in the Dharma and morality are also obtained. If there are many dharmas, then what is the Dharma? Is the Dharma jewel held like the other two jewels? No. Dharma is the first three truths, the sixteen realizations of self-enlightened Buddhas, learners and non-learners, and the bodhisattva path, and the seventeen antidotes of the peak of existence. Those two do not have the four gatherings, so they are not the seven virtues, and here Dharma is the object of knowledge or the reason for holding its own characteristics. Those are also divided into two types of substances: the latter is faith, and the former is the undefiled morality. The fourth is right liberation and right knowledge. The first is that the sutra says that the learner has eight branches and the non-learner has ten branches, so why are liberation and right knowledge not taught to the learner? Because they are bound by the corresponding afflictions and are only liberated from one aspect, they do not obtain the name of liberation, so they are not in the branch of the learner's path.

It is not mentioned in the Liberation Sutra, therefore consciousness is not established either. How can there be consciousness when acting without liberation, and without action? Liberation refers to the unconditioned dharma of eliminating afflictions, as well as the two types of aspiration, conditioned dharma. It is not a non-learning branch, just as view and other conditioned dharmas are, because it exists in the collection of the path, therefore it is a conditioned dharma. The sutra says that there are two types of liberation, liberation from the main things to be bound and abandoned, that is, the mind is liberated from desire, and wisdom is liberated from ignorance. The teacher said that it is not only aspiration that is liberation, but the mind without defilement is liberation. Second, what is the consciousness other than the correct view? It is said that in order to realize Bodhi, that is the correct consciousness, these two are the last aggregates of liberation. Fifth, what mind is liberated from obscurations? What path eliminates obscurations? The differences of liberation, etc., the four possibilities arising from renunciation. First, what non-learning mind is liberation? That is, the attainment of future birth-changing obscuring afflictions, such as at the time of the Vajra-like Samadhi, will be completely liberated. The non-learning, non-arising mind and long, kang, etc. are also liberated, but because they are easy to realize, they are not mentioned in the treatises. Second, by what path at what time are its obscurations eliminated? The present path that will be extinguished eliminates the obscurations of that present time. Third, what is the difference between the unconditioned liberation and the so-called abandoned realm, the realm free from desire, and the realm of cessation? Just as conditioned liberation is divided into two types, the sutras and treatises say that unconditioned liberation itself is the three realms. The difference between these three is that the complete exhaustion of desire is the realm free from desire, the abandoned realm is the exhaustion of other afflictions other than desire, and the so-called realm of cessation refers to the exhaustion of the root of afflictions, non-afflictive form, etc. It is necessary to consider whether the difference between these three is the essence or the opposite. Fourth, then will all those who are free from desire denounce and renounce? Not necessarily, because endurance and knowledge, etc., which take suffering and its cause, the origin of suffering, as their objects.
