Twenty desires, sixteen forms, four formless realms, eight cold hells, for these forty-eight kinds of sentient beings, there are forty-eight kinds of compassionate minds; thinking that the Buddha liberates these sentient beings, there is one kind of mind; thinking that I should also become like them, there is one kind of mind, thus fifty times two, manifested as one hundred. Abandoning the ten non-virtuous actions, the essence is pure, the application is pure, without the defilement of conceptual thoughts, being held by mindfulness, dedicating to Nirvana, thinking of becoming a Buddha from this, there are fifty kinds; thinking that I should also become like them, there are fifty kinds, a total of one hundred kinds. From where does it increase? It is said in the sutras that it increases and perfects from fifty pairs. Generally speaking, the transformation of merit, it is said in the sutras that the virtue of the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas of the ten directions can equal one pore; all of these can equal one minor mark of the Buddha; all of these can equal one name of the Buddha; thirty thousand of these can equal one urna hair; one hundred thousand of these can equal the ushnisha; one hundred thousand of these can accomplish the conch of Dharma, and so on. Secondly, from the perspective of specifically showing his deeds, at the end of which countless eons did which Buddha appear? At what time and when were the Paramitas perfected? The first point is: if this teacher accumulated merit in three countless eons, then in which countless eon did he make offerings to how many Buddhas? In the first countless eon, he made offerings to seventy-five thousand Buddhas; in the second countless eon, he made offerings to seventy-six thousand Buddhas; in the third countless eon, he made offerings to seventy-seven thousand Buddhas. Moreover, what appeared at the end of the three countless eons was Vipashyin Buddha at the end of the third, Dipamkara Buddha at the end of the second, and Ratnaketu Buddha at the end of the first. The first of all these to appear was Shakyamuni Buddha, and when this teacher became the potter Luminosity in front of him, he made the aspiration: I also want to become a Buddha in the same way as him. The Mahayana practitioners say that in each countless eon, they made offerings to countless Buddhas, but they did not calculate the numbers like this. It is said in the scriptures: From Shakyamuni Buddha to the guide Dhritarashtra. And, starting from the Buddha Well-Made, to the Free Banner Victory. And, starting from Dipamkara Buddha, to Jita.

Oh. Secondly, without choosing the field, giving everything, internal and external, to everyone without expecting return or fruition, with compassion, thus perfecting generosity. Even though with desire and attachment, the mind is not disturbed when limbs are cut off, this is patience. Not committing misdeeds of body and speech, this is discipline. The Buddha, in the cave of the Starry Mountain, remained in the Samadhi of Cessation, standing on one foot, praising and circumambulating with one verse for seven days, thus perfecting the Paramita of diligence, and also shortening nine kalpas. Immediately before enlightenment, he perfected meditation and wisdom with the Vajra-like Samadhi. Secondly, what is to be explained is the basis of merit, which is the foundation for doing good. There is a common definition, individual natures, and a detailed explanation of Dharma giving. First, the sutras say that the three merits arise from giving, discipline, and meditation, so how are these three the basis for doing good? These three are the merit that produces satisfying results, the action (karma), and the karma is the basis of the mind, for example, like the path of karma. What arises from giving is the five aggregates, including all three actions of body, speech, and mind, and the first two minds and the dharmas associated with them, which are entirely merit. What arises from discipline is the abandonment of the body and speech of desire, that is, all three are included. Loving-kindness and so on arising from meditation are merit and the associated mind arising simultaneously, so it is its basis. The precepts of the associated mind are the first two, and the others are only the first one. It is determined as three because one can obtain the enjoyment and body of the heavenly realms and liberation, or obtain enjoyment and desire and a higher body. In the second part, the arising of giving is explained, and the other two are shown. In the first part, there are the nature, classification, and characteristics of giving. First, what is giving? Although there are things that are called giving, here it refers to what is used to give, that is giving. Because giving with thoughts of fear and expecting returns will not become virtuous, therefore, giving with the intention of wanting to offer to special objects, benefiting equals and inferiors, what is that? It is the actions of body and speech and motivation of extending the arm and the blind, etc.
