Because it is fully involved, it completely generates the downfall. If a downfall is generated, which is more important, the perception or the object? For generating a downfall through action, perception is the main factor or cause. For example, if one perceives dry wood as a person and commits the act of killing, it becomes a grave offense. If one perceives a person as an animal and commits the act of killing, it becomes a minor offense. For generating the ultimate downfall, the object one thinks of and the perception coinciding are necessary factors. If there is doubt about this, it is not the case for the two instances of unchaste conduct and emission of semen. It is not necessary for the perception to coincide with the object. For example, if one thinks of engaging in unchaste conduct with a person but actually engages with a naga, it is a defeat. If one thinks of emitting semen into a person but actually emits it into an animal, it becomes a remnant. Moreover, for generating the downfall of speaking untrue lies, it is not necessary for the listener's perception to coincide with the object. For example, if one thinks of lying to Devadatta but actually lies to a sacrificial offering, it completely generates the downfall. In the case of "It is also the same for killing beings who have taken on the form of other beings," the Dharma friend said that if one perceives a being disguised as a man-tiger as a tiger and kills it, it becomes a defeat, that is, generating the defeat of killing, and it is not necessary to perceive it as a person or have doubt about it. To this, some early Tibetan scholars said, then, for a being disguised as a man-tiger, if one perceives it as a tiger and commits the act of killing, it should become a grave offense, because it ultimately leads to a defeat. If it is said that the action does not become a grave offense because there is no perception of it as a person, then the ultimate result should be the same. Furthermore, if one perceives the property of a being disguised as a man-tiger as the property of a tiger and steals it, it should become a defeat, because if one always perceives a being disguised as a man-tiger as a person and kills it, it becomes a defeat. Furthermore, if one perceives Devadatta as a sacrificial offering and kills him, it should become a defeat, for the same reason as before. If one perceives a being disguised as a man-tiger as a tiger and kills it, it should not generate a defeat, because there is perception there, etc. In the commentary on the Light One, in the explanation of "It is not a person but is perceived as a person," it is said that taking the life of a person with the perception of it not being a person does not result in an ultimate downfall.

Buton believed that if one perceived it as a tiger and killed it, there would be no transgression. If it is extracted from this, what would happen if one killed someone by perceiving a person as not a person? Because it is said that the Buddha declared that it would be a grave offense. From the basis of the story, if one causes someone who does not live by the perception of others to be separated from life, should that person be given the full ordination? Because it is said that one should be given the full ordination. Gyaltsabpa said that if it were done as before, then the faults of the Tibetans would also be taken advantage of by the Tibetans, because the meaning of "it is okay to perceive it as a person or to perceive it as something else" in the commentary is that it is okay to perceive it as a person or to doubt whether it is a person or not. Bodongpa refuted the faults by generally saying "by perceiving there" and specifically saying "the form of other beings," and so on. Having successively eliminated all the faults mentioned, the tenets of the Dharma Friend's commentary should be established. In this way, the first reductio ad absurdum of the Tibetans is unreasonable, because the commentary says that actions cause the magnitude of transgressions to change due to distorted perception, but for the entity itself, transgressions change according to the way things are, so it has already been answered. And in the root text, it is also said that for actions, perception is a branch, and for intention, it is the entity itself. Please be sure to clearly distinguish that the end point of action is perception, and which thing is the main one. The second reductio ad absurdum is unreasonable, because the commentary says that this sutra is not applied to all categories of transgressions such as taking what is not given, but only to the occasion of killing. And in the root text, it is also said "also for killing," so it has been specifically stated for killing. The third reductio ad absurdum is unreasonable, because the argument that the lineages of gods and offerings are different, so they are not the same, has already been refuted in the commentary. And, at the time of wanting to kill this (person) who has the form of a tiger, the object to be killed exists in the form of a tiger. And, at the time when Lhasbyin wants to kill this (person) who has the form, the offering that is to be killed does not exist in the form of Lhasbyin. The fourth reductio ad absurdum is also unreasonable, because in the case of "perceiving there," the commentary explains that it is necessary to kill the object to be killed without error.
