And, it cannot be done by stretching and laying down. The seventh is the downfall of eating at the wrong time: The basis is that a Bhikshu, without reasons such as illness, eats knowing or doubting that it is in the time from noon to before dawn in his own continent where timely food is allowed. The motivation is the thought of wanting to eat. The action is starting to eat, and finally swallowing into the throat will cause a downfall. Some people think that the continent where the Bhikshu himself lives should be the standard. The Vinaya says: 'Venerable one, is there a case where it is not a downfall to prepare and eat food at the wrong time?' The Buddha replied: 'Yes, that is when a Bhikshu of Jambudvipa is in the other three continents.' So, its meaning is, if a Bhikshu of Jambudvipa eats food at the right time in Videha, will it be a downfall to eat food at the wrong time in Jambudvipa? The answer is no.' This statement is also unreasonable. If so, then a Bhikshu who can travel to all continents by relying on the power of medicine can eat food at any time. Therefore, one should take one's own continent of birth as the standard, because this is the original meaning of the previous Vinaya, and it is beneficial to students. For example, a Bhikshu of Jambudvipa eats food in Videha when the sun sets in Jambudvipa time, there is no downfall. The eighth is the downfall of hoarding: The basis is that a Bhikshu, without reasons such as illness, receives and stores any of the four medicines, and has no mistaken understanding, and the motivation is the thought of wanting to eat at will. The action is starting to eat in a non-famine time, and finally swallowing into the throat will cause a downfall. From hoarding, four situations are derived: hand-held items, cooking within bounds, overnight items, and cooking by Bhikshus. The first hand-held item is: if a non-Bhikshu touches food such as grains that can be quickly enjoyed without fatigue, forgetfulness, and waste, it will become a hand-held item. The second cooking within bounds is: cooking raw food and grains, etc., within the autonomous boundaries of a Bhikshu who does not have a patron and is not a suitable dwelling, or in its vicinity, will become cooking within bounds. The third overnight item is: the place of placement and the items placed are mostly the same as cooking within bounds, but overnight items do not require raw parts.

Just as something becomes stale after a night has passed. Fourth, food cooked by a bhikshu: If a bhikshu, without reasons such as illness, quickly consumes raw food and grains, etc., wherever they are cooked inside or outside the boundary, it becomes that way. If a bhikshu eats these four foods when it is not beneficial for illness or during a famine, he commits a misdeed. Ninth, the downfall of eating without giving and receiving: If a bhikshu, without hearing an unpleasant announcement of residence, and without reasons such as being beneficial for illness, does not give and receive any of the four medicines. Without mistaken perception, and with the motivation of wanting to eat without giving and receiving. Starting to eat in that way, and finally swallowing it into the throat, one falls. Giving and receiving is: The object of receiving is one who has given the precepts, a bhikshu student who has not received full ordination, and those below a novice. The giver has the intention to give, even non-humans other than those who can lift food upwards. Not located higher than one cubit, from the direction of acquisition and directly in front, with both hands supine, the physical body or connected to it, without any other boundary in between. The receiver is a bhikshuni or below, who is qualified to restore the precepts, and any of the four medicines are taken without giving and receiving. A special case for being located in the direction of acquisition is: A monkey is located on a tree branch, giving fruits from the tree, etc., is acceptable. The Vinaya states that there are five ways of giving and receiving: hand-to-hand receiving, connected-hand-to-connected-hand receiving, hand-to-connected-hand receiving, connected-hand-to-hand receiving, and the five ways of placing giving and receiving. The latter is if one takes something that has already been given and received in that place, if the customs of that place do not allow criticism, even if it is indicated on a painted picture as "one yogurt," it is still giving and receiving. The meaning of touching another boundary is: Meat... Some people think that four fingers are needed without interruption, because the commentary says that doors, etc., are not obstructed. This statement is unreasonable, because in the commentary on the Pratimoksha, "Bee Foot," it says that even the length of an apple stem is not obstructed. The commentary's mention of doors, etc., is based on the situation of the four continents. The motivation for giving and receiving is: Thinking, "This is the giver, I am the receiver," and accepting.
