Because it is transferred from the invisible state to the visible state. Some say that the transfer of state, which is specifically determined by establishing cognition, is also considered stealing, which also seems unreasonable. If many thieves pull the object from a distance to their feet, and only one thief sees it, then the other thieves will have an established cognition in their minds. In that case, all the thieves will commit the Parajika of not giving, because that is why the sutra was quoted just now. Accept the previous inference. If the thing to be divided is many, then it is each of their parts. The thieves are also the same. If the thing to be divided is many owners of the object, then the value of each part must be calculated. If the thieves are also many monks, then the value of each part must also be calculated. Therefore, if one monk steals the property of ten different owners, then all ten complete values will become the root sin. If the property of ten owners is stolen by ten thief monks, then one hundred complete values will become the root sin. Some say that for both the object to be stolen and the thief, there are both placement objects and placement objects. If it is a placement object, then it is as stated above. But if it is a placement object, then even if one complete value is stolen, a Parajika will be committed. But no evidence has been seen.", "chinese_translation": "第三,危害他人生命的杀生堕罪有三:总义、与正文结合、断除疑惑。 , "english_translation": "Third, the Parajika of killing, which harms the lives of others, has three aspects: general meaning, application to the text, and cutting off doubts. First, the beginning is that in the place of expulsion, many monks were driven by unbearable afflictions, relying on the sin of not killing, and established this precept. The reason is that the visible faults are as before, and the invisible faults are that the Vipaka is the same as before. The resulting effect is that experiencing the resulting effect is short life, the creating resulting effect is liking to kill, and the Adhipati-phala is being born in a place where the land is barren. The limbs are that the limb of the basis is as before. The limb of the object is that it is a human being, different from one's own continuum. The intention is that there is no mistaken cognition, and the intention to kill. The action is that one's self or by instructing others, accomplished in body and speech, and begins without distortion. The ultimate is that because of that reason, one's previous life is interrupted.

Applying the explained meaning to the text: Severing life. Thinking in that way. Becoming a human. Recognizing in that way. By any means. Thus it is said. What action constitutes the root downfall of killing a life? Life is life, warmth, and the basis of consciousness. Thus, severing the life force by preventing future birth. Some say that life is a special wind that serves as the basis for consciousness entering the body, but this is not reasonable because wind is matter, while life is a non-associated formation. The motivation is thinking in that way to kill a life. Whose life? The life of a human or a fetus. Among them, becoming a fetus is initially a slimy state, after slimy it is a pasty state, after pasty it is a spherical state, after spherical it hardens, after hardening limbs emerge, as well as hair, body hair, nails, etc., and the visible senses, all characteristics are completely perfected. Thus, it is established in the four stages before hardening among the five stages of the womb, which is the aggregation of the three: body, life, and mind faculties. Becoming a human is the fifth stage of the womb where limbs emerge, etc., and the five stages of birth: child, youth, adulthood, decline, and old age, which is the aggregation of the six faculties. Recognition is recognizing a person as a person, thus the recognition is not mistaken. The method is by any means such as poison, weapons, etc. Third, cutting off doubts is divided into two: cutting off doubts about the object and cutting off doubts about the method. The first: If killing a human, who is also a sentient being, results in a root downfall, killing a non-human results in a gross offense, and killing an animal results in a downfall, what is the reason for this? It is said in terms of the three types of sentient beings: superior, middling, and inferior. As the Radiant Sutra says: Only in humans are the Three Jewels established, and the three vows are maintained. Non-humans also maintain the two vows of meditation and non-outflow, and animals have no vows. As it is said, humans are primary, non-humans are middling, and animals are inferior, therefore one should understand that the downfalls are different.
