O! "Long-term abiding" means to abide for a long time by transmitting from one to another. Secondly, the precepts with benefits refer to the Vinaya that shows what to adopt and abandon, mainly based on discipline. In the five volumes, it says: "It should be understood through the three: introduction, established precepts, and the establishment of transgressions." Also, in the same text, it says: "The established precepts are to prevent conflicts with the world and with the Vinaya, and they are natural faults and established faults, as well as the five types of transgressions that prevent established faults." Therefore, what is the basis of the Vinaya that shows what to adopt and abandon? In this regard, according to the Vaibhashika school, the general sound that appears in the mind's consciousness as a collection of names, words, and letters that show the adoption and abandonment of discipline is a non-associated compositional factor called "name," because it leads to meaning. This itself is the basis of the expressive Vinaya, as stated in the Treasury of Knowledge: "The eighty-four thousand aggregates of Dharma, whatever the Sage has spoken, those are words or names, and those are also included in form and compositional factors." Therefore, there is a difference between the "name" here and the "name" that is among the three: name, word, and letter. The established precepts must be protected, and the person who possesses the established precepts is the one who upholds them. Thirdly, regarding the classification of transgressions against the established precepts, there are two types: transgressions of those who have not taken full ordination and transgressions of those who have taken full ordination. The first is definitely a misdeed, because the vows of those who have not taken full ordination are the last of the vows, according to the view of Arhat Moon Jewel. To show the difference between full and non-full ordination, this is the view of Arhat Near-Hidden. If we classify the transgressions of those who have not taken full ordination, there are three types: misdeeds similar to defeats, misdeeds that need to be confessed other than that, and misdeeds that need to be restrained. Secondly, there are ten types of transgressions for those who have taken full ordination: classification, collection, nature, characteristics, cause, definite number, order, meaning of words, benefits of protecting, and faults of not protecting. First, there are two types: the basis of classification and the means of classification. The first is merely the transgressions that occur in the continuum of those who have taken full ordination. The second is that although the clear classifications are limitless, if we classify them from the perspective of categories, there are defeats.

There are five categories, namely the root offenses. In the commentary, the five categories of offenses are: the category of offenses that lead to defeat, the category of sanghadisesa offenses, the category of offenses, the category of individual confession offenses, and the category of training offenses. As stated in the Compendium: "There are five categories of offenses, and there are four things to be learned in this." If this is the case, then is there no distinction between gross offenses and minor offenses? There is no fault. Gross offenses caused by root offenses belong to the category of root offenses, and gross offenses caused by sanghadisesa offenses belong to the category of sanghadisesa offenses, and all gross offenses are included in these two categories. In the Differentiation, it says: There are two types of gross offenses, namely those arising from root offenses and those arising from sanghadisesa offenses. In the Vinaya, it says: Bhikshus, how should gross offenses be confessed? Upasakas, there are these four types of gross offenses, namely heavy offenses caused by defeat, light offenses caused by defeat, heavy offenses caused by sanghadisesa, and light offenses caused by sanghadisesa. The second is divided into two: the actual collection and the differences of each. The first is: included in the two types of offenses that are mainly based on cognition and mainly based on things. As stated in the Radiant Sutra: "There are two foundations of training, namely those that are mainly based on cognition and those that are mainly based on things." From the aspect of action, it is divided into two types: continuous and non-continuous. The first is: the time between the action and the ultimate result can be interrupted by other times, such as killing. The second is: the time between the action and the result cannot be interrupted by other times, such as touching. From the aspect of the ultimate result, it is divided into two types: those that are accomplished by abandonment and those that are not accomplished. The first is: offenses that do not depend on one's own knowledge that the result is achieved by other actions after the action is started, such as stealing and killing. The second is: the opposite of that, such as the first two root and sanghadisesa offenses. From the aspect of remedy, it is divided into two types: offenses without remainder and offenses with remainder. The first is: the four root offenses. The second is: offenses other than the root offenses. From the aspect of the basis, it is divided into two types: relying on sentient beings and relying on non-sentient beings.
