Being able to compose treatises that do not contradict the three valid cognitions ( ಪ್ರಮಾಣ, prama; direct perception, inference, and valid testimony). Clarifying means combining the three baskets (Tripitaka) with scripture and logic, and being able to clearly show them to others. The second is, being able to make them uphold, that is, being able to make the Sutra Pitaka uphold, being able to make the Vinaya Pitaka uphold, being able to make the Abhidhamma Pitaka uphold. On top of this, adding the two of virtuous conduct and extensive learning, the fifth is the sixth of the five sets. If so, then is it incomplete to abide in the Vinaya Pitaka? There is no fault, because the three baskets themselves are able to make others uphold through the way they teach. Second, the qualities of understanding the meaning are four: the qualities of understanding the three trainings (morality, concentration, wisdom), the qualities of understanding discipline, the qualities of perfecting the two, and the qualities of accumulating the two. The first is divided into two: the qualities of self-study and the qualities of making others study. The first is, studying higher morality, studying higher mind, studying higher wisdom. On top of this, adding two common branches, the fifth is the seventh of the five sets. Among them, studying higher morality means studying all the bases of learning that belong to the Vinaya Pitaka, studying higher mind means studying the mind that belongs to the four dhyanas, and what is called studying higher wisdom means studying the truth of the path. The second is, not only studying these three trainings oneself, but also, on top of this, being able to make others study higher morality, being able to make others study higher mind, being able to make others study higher wisdom. On top of this, adding two common branches, the fifth is the eighth of the five sets. Second, just as dividing studying the three trainings and being able to make others study into two five sets, here also combine two five sets. How to combine? Studying higher conduct, studying higher discipline, studying higher Pratimoksha. On top of this, adding the two of virtuous conduct and extensive learning, the fifth is the ninth of the five sets. Not only being able to make others study these three, but also on top of this, adding the two of virtuous conduct and extensive learning, the fifth is the tenth of the five sets. Higher conduct refers to the deportment of walking, standing, sitting, and lying down as described in the treatises, higher discipline refers to the precepts described in the four divisions of the Vinaya Pitaka, and higher Pratimoksha refers to the root Vinaya.

One should learn the foundations of training that are taught in the Pratimoksha. Third, the qualities of the two perfections are divided into two categories. The first perfection is: the fivefold group of perfect faith, perfect morality, perfect learning, perfect generosity, and perfect wisdom, which is the eleventh fivefold group. Among them, perfect faith is the perfection of pure faith, desiring faith, and believing faith, which has the characteristic of being irreversible. Perfect morality is the morality that is not defiled by the faults of precepts and self-nature. Learning is learning the Vinaya Pitaka. Generosity is giving without attachment. Wisdom is the wisdom that thoroughly distinguishes the Dharma. The second perfection, indicated by the word "also," is based on the above perfections: perfect morality, perfect concentration, perfect wisdom, perfect liberation, and perfect knowledge and vision of liberation. Combining the five branches into one, this is the twelfth fivefold group. Among them, morality is the morality in the continuum of a Bhikshu. Concentration is the uncontaminated concentration in the continuum of a non-learner. Wisdom is the uncontaminated wisdom in that continuum that focuses on suffering, its origin, and the path. Liberation is the liberation in that continuum that is liberated from all that should be abandoned. The knowledge of liberation is the knowledge of exhaustion and non-arising that focuses on cessation. The vision of it is the non-learning correct view that focuses on cessation. The fourth is divided into two: common branches and uncommon branches. The first is: from learning itself up to the fifth incomplete part, not only adding the two of possessing morality and being learned, but also adding diligent effort and possessing wisdom, thus there are four common branches. Among them, diligent effort is to abandon sins and unwholesome things that have arisen, and to prevent those that have not arisen from arising, and to generate wholesome Dharmas that have not arisen, and to diligently strive for the growth of those that have already arisen. Possessing wisdom is to know causes and conditions, to be able to expand from one to many, and to possess the wisdom to foresee what will happen later. The second is: with what does it combine? Based on possessing mindfulness, add possessing morality and being learned on top of it.
