is established on the form of two moons. Refutation is accomplished through reasoning that obstructs aspects inconsistent with the sign. Like this, for anything that is another substance, it is impossible for the sign to be simultaneously definite, because the other substance is excluded by the exclusion of other boundaries. For example, for other substances, there are two cases: non-simultaneous and simultaneous. The first case is excluded by non-simultaneity itself. For the simultaneous case, it is established that there is no other substance in the object that is necessarily imputed. Simultaneous but different substances are excluded by a harmful sign. Whatever is unrelated is pervaded by not being simultaneously definite. For example, like blue and yellow. You have also admitted that the eye and form are simultaneous and different substances, so that's what it is. Third, refuting the arguments against consciousness-only, which includes refuting the unestablished sign of knowledge, refuting being the same as atoms, and refuting the unreasonableness of examining the existence or non-existence of forms. The first is: if the knowable is posited, it is uncertain. If the agent of knowing is posited, it is unestablished. If it is said that mere knowledge other than these two cannot be found, then mere knowledge that is not differentiated by either of the former two is posited, just as in the definition of a cow, mere indistinctness that is not differentiated by whether it is white or brindled is posited. The second is: the Madhyamika says, the mind, as the subject, is not truly existent, for if it were truly existent as a single constant, it would be similar to the reasoning that refutes gross entities with parts. If it were truly existent as a multitude of momentary indivisible parts, it would be similar to the reasoning that examines the parts of atoms. The first is established, because there is a difference between earlier and later moments in time, for whatever has different moments in time, that cannot be one. As it is said. The second is established, because it is excluded by transposing the reasoning of the simultaneous combination of six. Therefore, the mind, as the subject, is not truly existent, because it is devoid of being truly existent as either a single constant substance or a multitude of momentary indivisible parts. The first is established, because it is the nature of three moments. The second is established, because it has already been proven elsewhere. If it is said, the Tibetans say that the reasoning that refutes atoms and moments is the same, therefore moments have parts, but this is inconsistent, because it would be impossible for the mind to be a single moment, because all minds are the nature of three moments. If it is accepted, all minds

If it is considered to possess the nature of three times, past, present, and future, then it is contradictory. Because it is impossible for moments of consciousness to exist simultaneously between the former and the latter. If it is said that even atoms are like that, if it is one, then it contradicts being six; if it is six, then it contradicts being one, it is the same. I also think so, so atoms will perish. If you say that moments will also perish? These two are not the same. Because the central atom cannot form a gross object if it is not surrounded by six directions at the same time. If it is surrounded at the same time, then the central atom will become directional. If the three times of consciousness arise simultaneously, it will lead to confusion of past, future, and present, because they cannot arise simultaneously. Therefore, the present moment of consciousness is an indivisible moment, because there can be no other existent apart from the moment that arises now. The third question is: the two sense consciousnesses that grasp one moon and two moons should be the same in terms of being valid or invalid. Because the existence and non-existence of their two objects are the same, and whether consciousness is with or without aspects, the truth and falsehood should be the same. If you say so, then for all minds that perceive objects, there is no object other than themselves, because for sense consciousnesses, all that appears as objects is the sense consciousness itself, and the appearance itself is not established externally. However, when measuring conventional valid cognition, there is a difference between valid and invalid cognition in terms of convention. Because based on the difference between stable and unstable habituation, one moon and white conch shells are considered true, while two moons and yellow conch shells are considered false. As it is said in the Pramāṇavārttika, "The other is because of the stability of habituation, it is connected without separation as long as samsara exists, relying on not deceiving conventions, so it is valid here." This speaks of the nature of conventional valid cognition. So it is said. The third point is: In general, there are many divisions of philosophical tenets, but here, the teacher has established two: Realism and Idealism. Determining that the object to be apprehended is only one own-character is when establishing Realism, because as long as external objects are accepted, the cause that generates a similar appearance from its own side is called the object to be apprehended.
