Then, it follows that it is not inferential cognition, because it does not newly ascertain the true meaning. If it is not pervasive, then the definition of inferential cognition is lost. Furthermore, it is difficult to find the basis of doubt, because the two minds of "Is there?" and "Is there not?" are not doubt, but gradually become inferential cognition and wrong consciousness respectively. The pervasiveness is admitted. Third, or just as ascertaining in accordance with the previously uncomprehended hidden meaning without relying on signs is the definition of true inferential cognition, why can't a false inferential cognition that ascertains not in accordance with the previously uncomprehended hidden meaning without relying on signs be established? It should be established, because the reason is the same. If you admit it, then the pervasiveness that if it is inferential cognition, it must ascertain the true meaning is lost. If you say that this is not inferential cognition, then the previous one is also not inferential cognition, for the same reason. If you think that the false inferential cognition of "Is there no water?" doubts both sides, so it is doubt. Then the true inferential cognition of "Is there water?" also becomes doubt, because it doubts both sides. If you think that both are true inferential cognitions, then a valid cognition that does not mistake contradictions may exist, because it is certain that there is both water and no water. Furthermore, that false inferential cognition should become the sixth non-valid cognition, because it is a non-valid mind other than the five. If you admit it, then the definite number that non-valid minds must be five is destroyed. If the mind of "Is there no water?" is wrong consciousness, then the inferential cognition of "Is there water?" also becomes valid cognition, because the reason is the same. Combine it with those three arguments. Second, individually refuting, divided into: refuting without reason, refuting inverted reasons, refuting the view that the Dharma of the scriptures is inferential cognition. If the inferential cognition without reason ascertains the true meaning, then all the minds of speculation such as "Is there a treasure under me?" must ascertain the true meaning, because the reason is the same. If you think it is doubt, then the inferential cognition without reason also loses the certainty of truth. Thinking that there is water in the well is not completely without reason, because just seeing water before is taken as the reason. If you say that the reason is uncertain, then just being uncertain is doubt.

it will become conceptual thought. Secondly, if the basis of the false reason is conceptual thought, then like proving sound to be impermanent through what is heard, this is uncommon; like proving it through what is measured, this is the uncertainty of things; like Devadatta proving to be blue-green through his son, this is true remainder; like proving sound and eyes to be permanent through the object of the eye, these consciousnesses relying on unestablished signs will also become conceptual thought, because the reasons are the same. If admitted, then it contradicts the scholar's statement that the first three are doubts and the last one is unknown. Thirdly, if it is said that the wisdom arising from hearing the scriptures is conceptual thought, then the consciousness that understands and holds the meaning of any scripture, whether of one's own school or another's, should not be conceptual thought, because it is included in any of the four types of consciousness. Because one's own scriptures have two types, direct and indirect, and others' scriptures have two types, reasonable and unreasonable. For example, like the scripture that teaches the Four Noble Truths, the consciousness that ascertains the meaning from the scripture with proof is inferential valid cognition; like the scripture that teaches that sins are eliminated through bathing, etc., the consciousness that holds the meaning from the scripture with harm is reversed knowledge; for the scripture that has meaning but neither harm nor proof, the consciousness that holds the meaning from it is doubt; the consciousness that holds the meaning from the unestablished scripture is unknown consciousness. These are also in order combined with "Trustworthy words are not deceiving," etc., "The truth of what should be taken and abandoned is," etc., "Meaningful but not established by valid cognition," etc., "Therefore, scriptures and things," etc., "All contradictions are not eliminated," etc. Acceptance and rejection of non-valid scriptures are done through doubt, so there is no contradiction. Second, refuting the appearance that is uncertain. There is the former view and its refutation. First, the definition is that it does not contradict imputation, but the appearance of the thing's own characteristic. If classified, there are three types: the object is unclear, the mind is not focused, and it is seized by the reason for illusion. The first is the eye consciousness that does not see the moment of the vase, which has the cause of the illusion of permanence; the second is the eye consciousness that holds the form of the state where conceptualization is gathered inside; the third is the eye consciousness that holds the fish bladder when the fish bladder is mistaken for silver.
