It's not just entering, but holding the meaning of the sound. The meaning of separation is not relying on its own opposite as a characteristic. Non-confusion means being free from the causes of confusion such as senses, objects, and actions. Are both of these needed to eliminate dissimilar classes? No, because all conceptualizations are confused, and non-conceptualization is established by non-confusion itself. However, in order to dispel the wrong conceptualizations that wonder whether those who have conceptualizations, such as the Samkhyas, are not confused about the objects they grasp, and whether inference is not confused, non-conceptualization is mentioned. Here, according to the Mind-Only school, inference is not confused, and if so, it can also eliminate dissimilar classes. According to the Sutra school, they do not accept that inference is not confused, so the difference is that it only eliminates wrong conceptualizations. In the Mind-Only school, what is the meaning of inference not being confused? In general, both the Sutra and Mind-Only schools agree that valid cognition is definitely twofold, but the Sutra school says, 'Whatever that beginningless confusion,' etc., and 'Inference is confused because it grasps an object that does not exist,' etc., as it is said, it means that it is tainted by beginningless habitual tendencies, and it is confused from the aspect of grasping an object that does not exist. Direct perception is the opposite of these two reasons, so it is considered not confused. The Mind-Only school considers it not confused, otherwise it would have to be considered confused from the aspect of the previous two reasons. If that were the case, then, as it is said, 'The nature of being defiled by the eye,' etc., and 'When knowledge enters from within,' etc., the mental direct perception of the Tirthikas would be subject to the fault of being confused, so it is considered not confused. Therefore, the Pramāṇavārttika says, 'Direct perception is free from conceptualization and not confused.' This is because it is the view of both the Sutra and Mind-Only schools. Therefore, it must be established from the aspect of not deceiving, and this is also present in inference. This understanding is for the benefit of the teachings. Secondly, the basis for classification is: non-confusion or, relative to wrong conceptualizations, simply non-conceptual non-confusion. If it is classified, there are four types, such as sense direct perception. Direct perception is also divided from the perspective of the object into two types: object direct perception and self-awareness that see other objects, self-awareness that sees self-objects, and yogic direct perception that sees without self and other. This also eliminates the absence of an object in self-awareness.
