It is said in some parts that these two are consistent in meaning in realizing whether there is self-characteristic or no self-characteristic. Abiding in being able to function is called non-deception, and "What kind of knowledge is it that does not know its own nature?" This is distinguished from what Dharmakirti said, "The difference in essence is the ability to obtain meaning," and it is not certain to obtain the meaning of obtaining either existence or non-existence, which will be discussed below. For both conventional and ultimate valid cognition, non-deception, non-knowing, and clarity of meaning each apply, because they are synonymous. This is a statement that distinguishes it from the view of the Ornament. That non-deception is also the nature of what karma, by what agent, and in what way does one not deceive. First, for the knowable, if the meaning has self-characteristic, it can function, and if it does not, it cannot function, which is itself non-deception. Second, the way of knowing is not inverted, and one knows how things exist, if there is, one knows there is, and if there is not, one knows there is not, which is non-deception. Third, if one enters into self-characteristic, one is not deceived in obtaining it, because there is no self-characteristic, if one does not enter into it, the absence of an opponent is itself non-deception. Abiding in being able to function is called non-deception, which indicates that abiding in not being able to function is called non-deception. Although the meaning of "not knowing, meaning clear" is self-characteristic, it is explained that the clarifier is the realization of its existence or non-existence. Therefore, if one speaks from the perspective of eliminating different kinds, non-deceptive knowledge is the definition of valid cognition, because this non-deception must have three qualities, and for the non-deception of the agent, it contains the meaning of novelty. Therefore, there is no need to add the word "novelty", because there is no distinction and it will be repeated. For example, non-erroneous wisdom is the definition of direct perception, and being able to promise as the thesis is the definition of the subject. Considering this, in the Commentary on Valid Cognition, it is said: "Valid cognition is knowledge with non-deception." Because in many treatises, "novelty" is not mentioned, only "non-deception" is said. If one thinks that those are for the sake of easily combining verses, that is not the case, even in the Determination of Valid Cognition, which does not depend on combining verses, "novelty" is not mentioned. From the perspective of eliminating wrong conceptions

If new words are added, there is no contradiction. For example, next to the definitions of direct perception and the proposition to be established, it is like saying the five such as freedom from conceptualization and essence. Considering this, next to the definition of valid cognition (pramāṇa, प्रमाण,pramana,量), the phrase "unknown object" is said, and next to the Sanskrit word for valid cognition, "pra" is said. If new words are not needed at all, then the definitions of direct perception and the proposition to be established are also the same. If you think that this contradicts what is said in the previous and subsequent texts that there is no distinction for what has not been previously realized, then there is no fault, because the meaning of what was said before has already been explained, and what is said later is to eliminate the existence of direct perception that enters into what has already been realized, therefore, the definition of direct perception valid cognition is said to be what has not been previously realized, showing that there is no distinction, because there is no distinction to be made, which is my unique realm. Third, if not deceiving, unknown object, and clear two are consistent in the meaning of realizing the self-characteristic, then it is not pervasive to the valid cognition that measures non-existents such as the permanence of space, and the near-erroneous grasping of yellow conch shells and the appearance of trees walking, etc., also do not deceive the white color and the self-characteristic of staying, so they would become valid cognition, in that case, the definition is too broad. The first fault does not exist, because that mind also examines whether there is a self-characteristic on the object of refutation, space, because it realizes that it does not exist, so it is reasonable to be a valid cognition. The second fault does not exist, because the two near-erroneous, the appearance of grasping yellow and walking, are not established there, therefore it is definitely said to be deceiving, because near-erroneous is the reason for deceiving. Because it is said to be apparent direct perception. Second, how it cuts off the way of superimposition, how to determine, and the refutation of the debate on this two. First, usually with the power of the valid cognition of common convention, when taking and abandoning on the existence or non-existence of self-characteristics, it is done through the way of leading to determination, because it is not the result of determining existence or non-existence. Because it is said, "The result of determining existence or non-existence is not." The opposite of determination is superimposition, because the two are the harmed and the harmer. The definition of determination is cutting off doubt, and if classified, there are two types of determination, correct and incorrect. The definition of the superimposition to be eliminated is the clinging mind that distinguishes from the meaning of reality to other extremes. If classified, there are two types, namely, conceptual wrong knowledge and doubt.
