If it is said that it is inappropriate to actually use names because of clinging to similar things as one, then it is not appropriate. The general meaning appearing in the mind of the speaker, as a dharma, should not become the object of common clinging for the speaker and listener. Because it is the object of the speaker's own mind, because it is the general meaning that appears to the speaker himself. If this is not established, then this dharma should not become the object of the speaker's mind, because it has not appeared. If you admit it, then because you do not understand the similarities with each other, it is impossible to understand the meaning. Since these two general meanings are related to their respective minds and objects, how can these two people cling to the two general meanings as one? It should not be clung to as one, because these two general meanings can only be cognized by different minds. If it is said that even if the objects of the two minds are only different general meanings, it is not contradictory to cling to them as one through confusion. Then, the conceptual thought of the speaker and listener becomes established as having no object of its own, because it is a confused consciousness, because it is a mind that clings to two general meanings as one. Therefore, all conceptual thoughts become established as having no object of apprehension. Thus, according to your view, all conceptual thoughts become established as having no appearing object, because you admit that the two objects are one. These are the undeluded views of the root and commentary. Relying on this commentary, those who say that the appearing object of conceptual thought is completely non-existent have not analyzed the pervasiveness of the reasoning that "when the cause exists, whether the mind exists or not," or even if they have analyzed it, they should be careful, because it is necessary to admit the self-character that becomes the direct object of sense consciousness. Second, the refutation is briefly shown by summarizing the statements: If one observes and analyzes with wisdom, then although the general and the non-existent do not exist in appearance, most Tibetans still cling to these two as objects of apprehension, which is wrong, because fools say so. For example, pointing to the sky with a fingertip and saying "This is the sky," and then clinging to the belief that one has seen the sky, is like a fool. This is an intermediate verse. Second, expressing one's own view: The object of measurement of the object of apprehension of the consciousness of the appearance of objects is only the self-character of the object.

The apprehended object of conceptual and non-conceptual illusions does not exist, because all acceptance and rejection of the apprehended object is included in it. Therefore, when judging whether self-character exists or not, it involves whether it can function, and for those that cannot function, because there is no need, it is not involved. Because one's own characteristics are "one measurable," etc., and "non-existence is not measurable," etc. Furthermore, self-character alone can distinguish the general character, and one alone can distinguish the appearance of non-existence. If the object is divided into three, it must also be determined based on the subject, therefore, if the self-character of the apprehended object is measured by directly giving the image to whatever cognition, then that is the apprehended object of that cognition; if the cognition of the self-character is measured by whatever has become obscured, then that is its object of attachment; if both self-characters are judged by two measuring methods, and with the intervention of a person (Pudgala), then for those three subjects, there will be no deception, therefore it can be regarded as the intervening object of the three subjects. So, why is the appearing object not shown? In fact, it has been explained, but it has not been directly shown, because when setting three objects for the self-character of things, by explaining the apprehended object, the appearing object of its subject can be determined, and considering the non-substantiality of the subsequent inference and the appearing object of the person, this is only my personal field of activity. The distinction of objects is the focus of things at this time, but if it has not become an object of thought for others, how can we say that it is understood as it is through discriminating wisdom? I offer it to the fortunate mentors with infinite wisdom as a feast for the flourishing of their wisdom bodies. Third, refuting arguments, including: refuting arguments against illusions having no object, refuting arguments against the self-character of the apprehended object. The first part has four points: refuting the statement that contradicts the two measurable things that are said, refuting the argument that the general character and the appearance of non-existence are the same object, refuting the statement that contradicts experience, refuting the fault that negation cannot be understood by valid cognition. The first point is: if the general character is not the apprehended object, then since Master Dignāga believes that there are two kinds of objects, self-character and general character, this will cause harm, but it will not cause harm, because it is not said that there are two measurable things on things, but from the way the two valid cognitions intervene, the two self-characters of appearance and obscuration proceed in order from the perspective of their own nature, and
