This is the case of identity. Considering this, it is said in the sutras: all dharmas are unrelated. Second, there are three types of separate refutations: refuting the connection of oneness, refuting the connection arising from it, and establishing the refutation of other connections. The first is: there is no connection between what is made and impermanence in terms of meaning, because those who are one in nature do not have two dharmas in meaning. Those who do not have two dharmas, each one, cannot have a connection, because of this. The reason for this is that all knowable things can be clearly divided into real and unreal, but the unreal itself does not exist in meaning, so the connection of oneness cannot be established in meaning. Reality is divided into one substance and different substances. Different substances do not have the meaning of a connection of oneness. For one substance, there are one reversal and two differences. The first does not have the meaning of connection. If the latter has a connection in meaning, then there must be different reversals in meaning, and if so, the reversal will be established as a substance. Furthermore, the Samkhya and some Tibetans agree that sound, made, and impermanent are connected as one in meaning. If the different reversals of made and impermanent are not established in sound, then it is impossible to establish the three modes, so it is impossible to establish or refute in meaning, because the self-satisfied dharmas of the mind are not related to meaning. If so, it is consistent with the meaning that made and impermanent are the same substance, but it is unreasonable for the reversals to exist in meaning. If they exist, are the reversals of made and impermanent related or unrelated to each other? If they are unrelated, then what is made will not be the sign of establishing impermanence in sound, and if they are related, if they are related as one, then both the substance and the reversal are the same, so even if they are considered different, there is no difference in meaning. If there is no difference, if they are not named, then the names will become synonyms, not different reversals. If they are connected by that arising, then they will not become the sign of nature, but will become the sign of the result. Second, in order to refute the connection of that arising in meaning, there are two types: refuting the connection of cause and effect in substance, and refuting the connection in lineage. The first includes refuting the sequential cause and effect, refuting the single, and refuting the relative. The first is divided into two, the first is that it is not consistent with the past and future. In the ultimate truth, there is no connection arising from it for either real or unreal, because it is not past and future, but simultaneous.

For them, there is no relationship arising from that. Like fire and smoke, although there is before and after, at the same time, either one does not exist, therefore (there is no relationship). As it says in the 'Examination of Relationships': "The entities of cause and effect, Since the two cannot exist simultaneously, How can they exist on the two? How can they be related if they do not exist on the two?" Second, the intermediate connection is not reasonable. The heretics say: The cause, the cessation of fire, and the result, the arising of smoke, there is a connection of combination between the two. This is not reasonable. If the intermediate connection is permanent, then it is not an entity. The non-existent entity, because it is free from action, cannot be the agent of combining the two. If it is impermanent, then it cannot be combined with smoke, because when the fire ceases, the connection also ceases. If it is thought that there is a connection between the cessation of fire and the non-arising of smoke, then it is not reasonable to be the combiner of the two unrelated cause and effect, because the combiner exists in the third dharma. Even if it exists in the third dharma, if it is the combiner of fire and smoke, then it is enough to combine the two fire and smoke, why is it necessary to combine with a relationship? If another relationship is needed between the fire-smoke combination, then it will become endless, because another combination is needed between the fire and the combination, between the before and after of the combination, and between the combination and the smoke. As it says in the 'Examination of Relationships': "If it is other, what is related? If it is not other, what is cause and effect? If there is another, then the two are unrelated, How to make the two related?" The second case is: If the relationship does not need to depend on two things, but each independent fire and smoke, etc., can establish the relationship between the two by existing separately, it is unreasonable. Because it would lead to the conclusion that there is no unrelated thing, and just seeing each independent single fire or smoke would also determine the relationship between the two, and even if they are independent of each other, if it is cause and effect, then the effect as a sign, the non-existence of the cause, would not become the object of understanding. As it says in the 'Examination of Relationships': "Because it exists even without it, Existing on one has no relationship." Third, denying the relationship of benefit, denying the relationship that does not arise without it. The first case is: For two things
