The way to hold two objects through... is the way to hold two wisdoms. Second, some Tibetans believe that multiple differences that cannot be separated and are gathered together are things, and the characteristic of gathered things is difference. That is, on one basis determined separately, the scope of things is wider, and apart from that, the scope of differences is wider. For example, it is said to be like armor and armor plates. This statement is unreasonable because differences do not actually exist, so multiple differences cannot be inseparably gathered together. If they gather, it is the same as the claims of the heretics. Even if it can be considered so, there is a fault of mutual dependence in understanding things and differences. Furthermore, the definitions of the dharma of things and differences are respectively: contradictory things do not gather on one thing, and differences do not gather on one difference. The bases of the examples are respectively: permanence and impermanence do not gather on a vase, and the negation of fire and non-negation do not gather on the difference of things that are merely knowable, but they gather on the thing, the vase. They say that these are the real objects of inference. Inference should not accept thing-dharma as a real object, because inference does not directly grasp the own character of things. If it grasps, then when 'made' is understood, 'impermanent' should also be understood, because 'made' and 'impermanent' are the same thing on the vase. If it is said that since the differences between the two are different, even if one is understood, the other will not be understood, then inference establishes and measures its own object through difference, and the function of grasping things is lost, because it enters its own object through exclusion. In this regard, the two verses such as 'Inference is also more real than things' should also be combined. Third, there are three parts: definition, classification, and determination of its meaning. First, the single difference that is different from other kinds and pervades many similar kinds is the definition of the general; because of this, the double difference that is also different from the objects within itself and similar kinds is the definition of the particular. Second, the classification of the general has two types: direct general and higher general. The particular has two types: direct particular and higher particular. For example, the double difference on things like the Shapa (transliteration) in the east and west directions is the direct particular, and the double difference on the moments before and after the Shapa is...

It is a distinction of the lower. The two generals related to those two are, in order, the direct and the upper general. To establish the distinction of the direct, one needs a basis of different substances, because it is relative to the direction, simultaneous things. To establish the distinction of the upper, one needs to negate a single basis, because relative to time, past things etc. do not exist. Others have not been able to explain as it is. Thirdly, refuting other's tenets, stating one's own tenets, and refuting disputes are three. Firstly, refuting with reasoning and scripture. Firstly, refuting different entities and the same entity are two. Firstly, of the two, the former position is: some, namely the Particularists, say that the great general like existence itself, and the limited general like the ox itself, are different substances from their own manifestations, and both of them pervade all manifestations, are permanent, invisible, and are connected with the manifestations by a binding relationship like a rope. This is not reasonable, because the manifestations are the subject, there is no general that is a different substance from itself, because that appearance is visible but not seen. It is refuted like a rabbit's horn. If it is certain that it exists even though it cannot appear, then it is too extreme. Secondly, refuting that one general is the same as many particulars, refuting that many generals are the same as many particulars, and refuting similar generals. Firstly, the former position is: some, namely the Samkhyas, say that the chief, which is the equality of the three parts of atoms, darkness, and vigor, is the same entity as the manifest pot, etc. Also, the Tibetans all unanimously proclaim that for the distinctions such as cedar and sandalwood, there is a general called just wood, which is a single existence with inseparable essence. Secondly, to refute that, there are three: visible but not seen, conceptualized, and too extreme. The first is: even if one thinks that the general and the particular, whose entity is not other, are the same entity, the manifest tree is the subject, you do not have a general that is the same entity as you, because that perception of you is visible but not seen. The second is: if a general like a tree is related to those distinctions that contradict the place like the cedar of the east and west, the time like the cedar of the morning and evening, and the form like the cedar and pine, from the perspective of the same entity, that is, it goes, then when one manifest tree arises or is destroyed,
