If the student is to walk, then at that time, the thread should be held on the crown of the head and walk backwards. As it says in the 'Black Mandala Ritual': 'The wise should walk backwards.' Whenever one needs to walk, it should be done in the same way. If it is like the two outer lines, it is permissible to deviate slightly, but it is not necessary to walk backwards. Then, recite 'Om Vajra Vega Tra Maha Om, Vajra, Swift, Tra, Maha),' and in your mind, raise the wisdom thread into the sky. Squeeze your eyebrows in the four directions and look with an angry gaze. Recite 'Hi Hi,' thinking that the four doors are being opened. Holding the vajra and bell, use your middle and index fingers to wipe the root threads corresponding to the four doors with fragrant water, reciting, 'May all obscurations that are obstacles to the door of liberation be removed.' Second, drawing with colors: Sweep away all the dust, etc., of the mandala. The teacher sits in the center, takes the paints, holds them in the fist of the left hand, and says these words: 'This Dharmadhatu is completely pure, it liberates the realm of sentient beings. O great Vajra King, draw the essence of the mandala.' Om, Vajra, Image, Samaya, Wisdom, Tra, Maha, Hum),' and starting from the powerful direction, draw clockwise to a large area. The order is to draw black, green, red, and yellow from the inside, and white on the outside. Alternatively, draw white at the base of black, then yellow, red, and green on the outside, whichever is appropriate. This is what is said in 'Free Water.' The former is the intention of Vajra Peak, the order of the directions, and the latter is the intention of the Four Seats, the order of wisdom. The Dombi school considers the former to be better. In the 'Jewel Burning Sutra,' it says: 'White is the nature of the Vajra Peak, the second is made of gold, it is the nature of the ruby, likewise the others are emeralds, black should be known inside, this is the order of colors.' Tso Kye considers the latter to be better. Starting from the northeast corner, the lama draws five lines of black, white, yellow, red, and green in order, equally a span high, then hides them and offers to the lines.

In between, it says: Draw the lines with the width of a grain of wheat, without touching. And in the four hundred and fiftieth verse, it says: Draw the lines mutually with the width of a grain of wheat, without touching. And so on, the meaning of saying so many things like this is, Buton Rinpoche said: Each of the five lines only has a quarter of the door width, and at one-twentieth of the door width, the lines stand upright evenly. Because it was said by Marme Zangpo (Lamp-making Good One) himself, there is no gap left for a grain of wheat. Therefore, Tsongkhapa said that the great accomplished one himself has internal contradictions. Tsongkhapa said: That is determined by the length of one cubit of the main line, one large unit gets twenty-one grains of wheat, at that time one small unit gets five and a quarter grains of wheat. Five grains of wheat show the width of the five lines, and the remaining one-quarter is ignored. Therefore, it is unreasonable to speak of the faults of the great accomplished one when one is uncertain oneself. This is very unreasonable, because the mandala ritual says that from one cubit to one thousand cubits can be done, this shows a range, not just the length of one cubit. Moreover, in the "Difficult Explanation, Garland of Lotuses," it says that when the mandala is to be made three cubits and three thumbs, it says to draw the width of one grain of wheat, therefore, your tenet naturally collapses. Moreover, the previous treatise says to draw lines at one-twentieth of the door width, and the latter again shows the width, there is a fault of repetition, therefore, you have also made the statement that the great accomplishment is flawed when you are uncertain yourself. The previous view is also unreasonable, if the gap of one grain of wheat is the idea of these great accomplished ones, then the great accomplished ones would have the fault of denying the present amount. So, what should it be like? Because of the difference in translation, the treatise appears that way, but the lines should be drawn without touching each other. How much height should be drawn? It means to draw with the width of a grain of wheat. As the "Difficult Explanation, Garland of Lotuses" says: The size of one grain of wheat below, from this draw the mandala. So, if one thinks that this is inconsistent with what the mandala ritual says, from wheat to continents, the length of the little finger and thumb, draw the height correctly in numbers, that is because drawing with such a large length, the fundamental widths do not touch each other, this is in terms of a large mandala.
