For pacifying, it should be done in white. If doing the practice of empowerment, contemplate it as red, merging into the deity. If doing the practice of consecration, contemplate it as yellow, increasing merit. Whatever other activity is done, it should be in accordance with that thing and its color. When reciting the mantras of the retinue, do the visualization of the retinue as before. Visualize that the rays of light from the mantra strike the deity of the mantra being recited, thereby subduing it and urging it to action, and then recite. Thus it is said. Jetsun Rinpoche said that in the case of Chakrasamvara, it is said to turn outward. Sachen Kunga Nyingpo said that if you want to stabilize the wind, turn inward, and if you want to stabilize bodhicitta, turn outward. Therefore, do whatever you want according to your needs. Second, rays of light emanate from the letters of the mantra, clearly manifesting the form of the deity and making offerings, stimulating the mindstream of the Buddhas and benefiting sentient beings. The light gathers back and dissolves into one's own heart, and then recite. This is the oral instruction for reciting during tsokhor and other times, as taught by Jetsun Tsemö. Third, place the letters of the mantra in the heart and recite by focusing on them in a reading manner. The third has five parts: the mantra to be recited itself, the order of recitation, the manner of how to recite, the number of recitations, and the necessity of reciting in this way. First, the mantras of the main deity and retinue are: Om, which means giving the best. (Tibetan: ཨོཾ, Devanagari: ओ, Romanized Sanskrit: oṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Om) is the meaning of giving the best. Ashtananaaya, the one with eight faces. (Tibetan: ཨཥྚཱ་ན་ནཱ་ཡ, Devanagari: अष्टाननाय, Romanized Sanskrit: aṣṭānanāya, Literal Chinese meaning: the one with eight faces) Pingaurdhakaishavartamane, the one with yellow hair standing upright. (Tibetan: པིཾ་གཽརྡྷ་ཀཻ་ཤ་ཝརྟ་མ་ནེ, Devanagari: पिंगौर्धकैशवर्तमाने, Romanized Sanskrit: piṃgaurdhakaīśavartamāne, Literal Chinese meaning: the one with yellow hair standing upright) Chaturvimshati Netraya, the one with twenty-four eyes. (Tibetan: ཙ་ཏུར་བིཾ་ཤ་ཏི་ནཻ་ཏྲཱ་ཡ, Devanagari: चतुर्विंशत नेत्राय, Romanized Sanskrit: caturviṃśati netrāya, Literal Chinese meaning: the one with twenty-four eyes) Shodasha Bhujaaya, the one with sixteen arms. (Tibetan: ཥོ་ཌ་ཤ་བྷཱུ་ཛ་ཡ, Devanagari: षोडशभुजाय, Romanized Sanskrit: ṣoḍaśabhujāya, Literal Chinese meaning: the one with sixteen arms) Krishna Jimutavapushe, the one whose body color is black like rain clouds. (Tibetan: ཀྲྀཥྞ་ཛཱི་མུ་ཏ་ཝ་པུ་ཥེ, Devanagari: कृष्णजीमूतवपुषे, Romanized Sanskrit: kṛṣṇajīmūtavapuṣe, Literal Chinese meaning: the one whose body color is black like rain clouds) Kapala Mala Anekan Dharine, the one who holds many skull garlands. (Tibetan: ཀ་པཱ་ལ་མཱ་ལ་ཨ་ནཻ་ཀཾ་དྷ་རི་ཎེ, Devanagari: कपालमाला अनेकं धारिणे, Romanized Sanskrit: kapālamālā anekaṃ dhāriṇe, Literal Chinese meaning: the one who holds many skull garlands) Adhmatā Kruracittaya, the one whose mind is agitated from within. (Tibetan: ཨཱདྷྨ་ཏཱ་ཀྲཱུ་ར་ཙིཏྟ་ཡ, Devanagari: आध्माता क्रूरचित्तय, Romanized Sanskrit: ādhmātā krūracittaya, Literal Chinese meaning: the one whose mind is agitated from within) Ardhendu Damshtrine, the one who has fangs like a half moon. (Tibetan: ཨརྡྷེནྡུ་དཾ་ཥྚྲི་ཎེ, Devanagari: अर्धेन्दु दंष्ट्रिणे, Romanized Sanskrit: ardhendu daṃṣṭriṇe, Literal Chinese meaning: the one who has fangs like a half moon) Here, the syllable Om is not found in Maitreya's Kumuti or in either of the two sadhanas, but it is found in some Indian versions of the root tantra, as well as in the sadhanas Ocean Born and Jewel Flame, and as explained by the previous lamas. Therefore, Om is a vow. Maraya Maraya Soda Soda. (Tibetan: མཱ་ར་ཡ་མཱ་ར་ཡ་སོད་སོད, Devanagari: मारय मारय सोद सोद, Romanized Sanskrit: māraya māraya soda soda, Literal Chinese meaning: Kill Kill So So) Karaya Karaya Kuru Kuru. (Tibetan: ཀཱ་ར་ཡ་ཀཱ་ར་ཡ་གྱིས་གྱིས, Devanagari: कारय कारय कुरु कुरु, Romanized Sanskrit: kāraya kāraya kuru kuru, Literal Chinese meaning: Do Do Do Do) Garjaya Garjaya Ghoṣa Ghoṣa. (Tibetan: གརྫ་ཡ་གརྫ་ཡ་སྒྲོགས་སྒྲོ, Devanagari: गर्जय गर्जय घोष घोष, Romanized Sanskrit: garjaya garjaya ghoṣa ghoṣa, Literal Chinese meaning: Roar Roar Proclaim Proclaim)
