This is to indicate the path of the teachings. The answer to the fourth question is: Although everything indicates one complete path, all practices are understood through the three continuums (རྒྱུད་གསུམ།). This is not contradictory, because the three continuums are the basis of practice. Prior to that, there are the three appearances (སྣང་བ་གསུམ།) that establish the basis of practice, the four valid cognitions (ཚད་མ་བཞི།) that cut off the elaborations of practice, and the four whispered lineages (སྙན་བརྒྱུད་བཞི།). Thus, when practicing and traversing the bhumis and paths, five interdependent connections (རྟེན་འབྲེལ་ལྔ།) are needed to demarcate the bhumis. Secondly, regarding the worldly path of harmonizing samsara and nirvana, there are two aspects: one is to indicate it condensed into seven key points of pith instructions, and the other is to indicate the removal of obstacles on the path. The first aspect has seven points: the key point of blending the path into non-direction through the three ways of gathering elements; the key point of knowing the proximate cause of samadhi through the three ways of abiding the mind; the key point of knowing everything as samadhi through the three experiences; the key point of cultivating experience as spontaneously arising through the three heats; the key point of knowing the distinctions of samadhi through the three ways of leading the path; the key point of knowing the boundaries of the path through the three gatherings of elements; the key point of being free from hope and fear through the three interdependent connections. The first point is: Through the three ways of gathering and the seven non-directions, by distinguishing, make yourself free from defamation and exaggeration. There are two aspects to this: one is to identify the three ways of gathering and the seven non-directions, and the other is the way to be free from defamation and exaggeration. First, the three ways of gathering are: those with karmic connections gather elements naturally, those with devotion gather elements through blessings, and those with diligence gather elements through effort. The seven non-directions are: if applied to karmic connection, the karmic connection awakens in non-direction, the wind returns in non-direction, the tummo fire blazes in non-direction, the channels open in non-direction, the elements gather in non-direction, defiled direct perception arises in non-direction, and undefiled direct perception arises in non-direction, these are the seven. Similarly, for devotion and diligence, there are also seven each, totaling twenty-one. The second point is: For those who have not cultivated the path, when element gathering occurs, those without pith instructions will defame it, saying that it is not element gathering, and they will exaggerate, saying that it is caused by demons. If these three ways of gathering are understood, there is no need for defamation and exaggeration.

Like the monk Bodhisattva Chandra Raja, there are also cases where bindus gather due to devotion. Like Jodan of Ü, there are also cases where bindus gather due to karma, and so on. Second: By realizing the three modes of abiding of mind-holding, one should understand them as the proximate cause of samadhi. This has two aspects: first, recognizing the three modes of abiding of mind; second, how they become the proximate cause of samadhi. First: Mind abides due to the reversal of wind; mind abides due to the blessing of wind and mind essence; mind abides due to the merging of supports into equality. Second: From any of the three mentioned above—karma, devotion, and diligence—these three, such as wind reversal, will arise. From these, inconceivable samadhis such as physical experiences and mental experiences will arise. Therefore, wind reversal and so on are the direct cause of samadhi, while karma and so on are the indirect cause, this is the meaning. Third: When three experiences arise in one's own body, whatever they may be, know them as samadhi. This has two aspects: first, recognizing the three experiences; second, how to know any experience as samadhi. First, the physical experience is: due to the power of practice, the wind enters and reverses inward, causing the body to have throbbing, shaking, jumping, and so on. The mental experience is: striking the vital point of the letter in the channels, experiences such as fear, sorrow, attachment, and aversion will arise. The dream experience is: striking the vital point of the wind, even in dreams, the nature of movement will appear, such as dreaming of horses and so on. Second: Those without instructions, when pain and so on occur in the body, explain it as physical discomfort; when afflictions and so on occur in the mind, they explain it as self-arising afflictions; dream experiences are explained as self-arising dreams, not recognizing them as samadhi. But according to this school, one should know that these are the three experiences arising from the mingling of wind and mind. Fourth: Whether the three heats arise in sequence or not, whatever they may be, let them go as they arise. This has two aspects: first, recognizing the three heats; second, how to let them arise naturally. First: the heat preceded by conceptual thought, the heat of the gathering of the nine constituents, the heat of the blazing and gathering of bindus. Second: Those three heats
