It is holding the hair of the four-faced Brahma. The manner of the hands and the way of holding the hand implements are like this: Although the scriptures and commentaries and the Supreme Lord (referring to Tsongkhapa) have said, in some of the current notes, the third on the right holds a ḍāmaru (ཌཱ་མ་རུ་,梵文天城体:डमरू,梵文罗马拟音:ḍamaru,汉语字面意思:hand drum), and the third on the left holds the head of Brahma, the sound of the ḍāmaru symbolizes that Brahma is the nature of ignorance, thus symbolizing awakening from it. The fourth on the right holds a vajra (དགྲ་སཏྭ་,梵文天城体:वज्र,梵文罗马拟音:vajra,汉语字面意思:vajra), and the fourth on the left holds a rope, the rope binds demons and afflictions, and the vajra cuts them. The fifth on the right holds a curved knife, and the fifth on the left holds a skull cup filled with blood, the curved knife cuts off the heads of gods and asuras, and then pours blood into it. The sixth on the right holds a trident, and the sixth on the left holds a khaṭvāṅga (ཁ་ཊྭཱཾ་ག་,梵文天城体:खट्वाङ्ग,梵文罗马拟音:khaṭvāṅga,汉语字面意思:khatvanga), symbolizing subjugation and subsequent acceptance. It is written that, therefore, it is called right-hand offering and left-hand giving. Such a statement does not appear in the Hevajra Tantra commentaries, minor scriptures, and the Supreme Lord's writings, nor has it been said by the great lamas, and it contradicts the purity spoken of by the Supreme Lord, so it should be abandoned. Some say that this is Abhayadatta's view, but in his Sadhana-Dispelling Errors and the Hevajra section of the Vajra Garland, he seems to write just like the Luipa's text, and such a way of holding hand implements never appears. Therefore, the root of the error of upper and lower giving is that the teacher Action Vajra said in the offering praise of the Sadhana: Abiding on a corpse seat, all faces have three eyes, and the sow has a red body, the two root hands embrace, and the other two hands quickly seize the elephant, the remaining four left hands hold a khaṭvāṅga, a rope, a human skull cup, and the head of Brahma, the right hands hold a curved knife, a trident, a vajra, and a small drum, I prostrate to Heruka. When emphasizing the meaning of this scripture, it seems that the error is made by counting the fourth on the left from the front, and the fourth on the right from the back, but even counting in this way proves that the way of holding does not exceed the previous statement. The great achiever Phagpa quoted this scripture.

Its meaning is the holding method of counting the left hand from the front and the right hand from the back. To this, the scholar Bu said: This is not (the Buddha's) intention. Because in the difficult commentary of the 'Lanka Victorious King Sutra', it also says: The third, fourth, fifth, and sixth (hands) of the right hand hold the trident, enemy staff, curved knife, and hand drum, and the fourth (hand) of the left hand holds the khatvanga, skull bowl, rope, and Brahma's head. In the 'Conduct' it also says: The two hands embrace tightly, the two hands hold the elephant skin, enemy staff, trident, curved knife, the right hand waves the hand drum, the khatvanga and the blood of the skull bowl, the rope and the head are raised high, this is the correct description of the left hand. By making such a refutation, there is no harm to the intention of the noble one. Because that commentary seems to be counting according to the literal meaning of the root text. When the fundamental intention, the remaining eight hands are determined to be counted in a left-handed direction, the intention of the commentary is also determined in the same way. Moreover, the face and hands of the Black Lineage depend on Vajra Dakini, and the face and hands of Luipa's lineage depend on the 'Nine Manifestations', and it seems that neither of them are the two cases mentioned in the 'Conduct'. As for the Mother Vajravarahi, from 'in front of her' to 'having great compassion', the others are easy to understand. Here it says that the right hand holds the vajra, but in the oral instructions, it seems that she is holding a curved knife marked with a vajra, which is based on what is said in the sixth chapter of the 'Conduct': The Bhagavati Mother who dwells in front, one face burning with great fire, in the embracing skull bowl, filled with the blood of demons, the right hand always holds the threatening mudra, and the fierce curved knife. This is based on the sadhana of Vajrayogini composed by Naropa, although the sutra says to hold the vajra, but in the oral instructions, it is made like a curved knife marked with a vajra. The two feet embrace, which is clearly stated in the 'Source of Discipline' and the 'Conduct'. The commentary says: Embracing with the feet is like embracing as if climbing a tree. Second, describing the ornaments and cushions, such as 'decorated with hair knots and topknots' and so on, and with what.
