I shall act in such a way that all may come to know, generating compassion focused on the Dharma. Reciting the mantra Oṃ Svabhāva (Tibetan: ཨོཾ་སྭ་བྷཱ་ཝ།, Sanskrit Devanagari:, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ svabhāva, Literal Chinese meaning: Om, Self-nature) and so forth, one should view all three realms as emptiness. Through the power of aspiration, the mind abides higher and higher, visualizing it as the nature of the white, red, and blue syllables Oṃ Āḥ Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཨོཾ་ཨཱཿཧཱུྃ།, Sanskrit Devanagari:, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ āḥ hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Om Ah Hum). Then, from the syllable Oṃ, the deities of the wheel of the body emanate perfectly, accomplishing the benefit of beings, first entering into samadhi, then dissolving, merging into it. Then, from the syllable Āḥ, the deities of the wheel of speech, and from the syllable Hūṃ, the deities of the wheel of mind. Then, Oṃ merges into Āḥ, Āḥ merges into Hūṃ, U merges into Ha, Ha merges into the head, the head merges into the half-moon, the half-moon merges into the bindu, the bindu is gathered into the nada, abiding at the measure of splitting the tip of a hundred thousand hairs. Sentient beings revolve in samsara because they do not know the nature of reality, therefore I shall know the nature of reality and cause them to realize it as well. Thus, cultivate great compassion, becoming the seed of non-referential compassion. Reciting the mantra Oṃ Śūnyatā Jñāna Vajra (Tibetan: ཨོཾ་ཤཱུ་ནྱ་ཏཱ་ཛྙཱ་ན་བཛྲ་, Sanskrit Devanagari:, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ śūnyatājñānavajra, Literal Chinese meaning: Om, Emptiness, Wisdom, Vajra) and so forth, one should completely abandon the thought of even the nada. Thus it is said. Mardo and others, and the later two sons, Buge, also seem to have practiced in this way. Therein, the meaning of the text is that by reciting the first mantra, one contemplates emptiness, placing the three syllables in the three places, and for those who revolve in samsara due to the grasping of sentient beings, one cultivates compassion focused on the Dharma, reciting the mantra and viewing the three realms as emptiness. Then, from the arising of the three syllables Oṃ Āḥ Hūṃ, up to the nada, is the meaning of abiding in one's own mind only. Reciting the later mantra and contemplating that even the nada is not apprehended seems to explain the meaning from "like a cataract" onwards. Dodjo Khenpo said, "Here, the appearance of the container and its contents, when not yet purified in reality, is also not the contemplation of annihilation and permanence," and, "If one understands that in emptiness established by its own nature, all actions are reasonable, then contemplating the gathering of appearances has no fault of nihilism, but is due to necessity."

The reason for doing it that way is because one does not accept the absence of appearance. The stages of dissolution explained in the commentary refer to the stages of dissolution of appearance, increase, and attainment at the time of death. When one accumulates the collection of wisdom, one is concerned that it contradicts not meditating on the absence of appearance. To eliminate that fault, and to explain it as a support for one's own tenets by applying the accumulation of wisdom to the purification of death and the intermediate state, it seems to be so. Even so, it is not possible to eliminate the fault of contradiction, because others meditate on the absence of appearance at that time, so in general, one must accept the absence of appearance. Then you should also meditate on the absorption of appearance at that time, so in general, one must accept the absorption of appearance. If merely meditating on the absence of appearance at that time would turn into nihilism, then meditating on the absorption of appearance is also the same, because it is the same as meditating on the absence of appearance. If one does not meditate on absence, then the examination of whether the appearance of one's own clothes, etc., is inside or outside the field of merit has already been explained elsewhere. When applying the actual basis of realization to the purification of the three states of birth, death, and the intermediate state, applying the accumulation of wisdom to the purification of death and the intermediate state is because, with one type of sentient being, the three dharmas of death and the intermediate state first arise, which contradicts all the scriptures, etc., and has already been explained in detail elsewhere. Third, the venerable one said: From then on, in order to understand the aspect of protection in the mind, the great meaning of accumulating the collection of wisdom is to contemplate all phenomena encompassed by the outer and inner as one's own mind-only, illusion, mirage, and optical illusion. And verbally recite: Om Svabhava Shuddha Sarva Dharma Svabhava Shuddho 'Ham. And make it stable. Again, contemplate that illusion is also without self-nature, and recite: Om Shunyatajnana Vajra Bhava Atmako 'Ham. (藏文:ཨོཾ་ཤཱུ་ནྱ་ཏཱ་ཛྙཱ་ན་བཛྲ་བྷཱ་ཝ་ཨཱཏྨ་ཀོ྅ཧཾ།,梵文天城体:ॐ शून्यताज्ञान वज्र भाव आत्माकोऽहम्,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ śūnyatājñāna vajra bhāva ātmako'ham,汉语字面意思:嗡,空性智慧,金刚,体性,自我。) And make it stable. This much seems to be the meaning of the treatises of the great accomplished ones of the past. This mainly contemplates the view of emptiness, not even fixating on appearance, so it is appropriate at this time to merely absorb appearance into the mind, and to contemplate that the nature of the mind is also unattainable. The reason for making it stable with the two mantras is also because these two mantras are what make these two stable. This very thing, in the small commentary of the great translator in the tradition of Jowo, says: From the Hum (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुँ,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽) syllable in one's own heart, rays of light emanate.
