དཔང་པོ་རྒྱལ་པོ་གསུམ་གྱི་ཁྲི་བཤམས་ཏེ་རྩོད་པ་བྱས་པས་སློབ་དཔོན་ཅུང་ཞིག་ཞན་ཞན་འདྲ་ནས་སློབ་དཔོན་གྱི་ཐུགས་ལ་ང་ལྟ་བུའི་སྨྲ་བའི་དབང་ཕྱུག་ཞན་པ་ལྟར་འདུག་པ་འདི་ཅི་ཡིན་སྙམ་དུ་བསམ་པས་སྔར་སློབ་དཔོན་གྱི་གསུང་བཅག་པའི་ཉེས་པ་དྲན་ནས་བཟོད་གསོལ་བྱས་ཏེ། ཡིད་ཀྱིས་གསོལ་བ་བཏབ་པས་ཏི་ལོ་པ་ཕྱག་གཡོན་པར་མིའི་ཐོད་པ་བཅད་མ་ཁད་ཅིག་ཐོགས་ནས་བྱོན་པ་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ་བས་གཅེར་བུ་པ་ན་རེ། སྙིང་རྗེ་དང་བྲལ་བ་སྲིན་པོའི་གཟུགས་ཅན་འདི་ལྟ་བུ་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ་བ་དེ་ཉིད་ཀྱིས་ཕམ་པའི་གནས་སུ་གྱུར་ཏོ་ཞེས་ཟེར་རོ། །དེར་ཏི་ལོ་པའི་ཞལ་ནས་ཕམ་ཕམ་ཞེས་གསུངས་ཏེ། ཁོའི་ལྷ་ཁང་མཆོད་རྟེན་གྱི་གཟུགས་འདྲ་བ། ཟུར་བརྒྱད་དང་སུམ་ཐོག་ཡོད་པ་ལ་སྡིགས་མཛུབ་ལན་གསུམ་བྱས་པས་ཐོག་གསུམ་ཀ་འགྱེལ་བས་གཅེར་བུ་པ་རྣམས་སྐྲག་སྟེ། ཐམས་ཅད་ཀྱིས་སློབ་དཔོན་གྱི་ཞབས་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ་ཏེ་གཅེར་བུ་པ་ཐམས་ཅད་སངས་རྒྱས་ཀྱི་བསྟན་པ་ལ་བཙུད་དོ། །དེར་ཏི་ལོ་པའི་ཞལ་ནས་ད་ཁྱོད་ཀྱིས་སྐྱེ་བ་འདི་ལ་མཆོག་གི་དངོས་གྲུབ་ཐོབ་པའི་སྐལ་བ་མེད་ཀྱི་ཆོས་སྟོན་ཅིག་དང་འགྲོ་བ་མང་པོ་ལ་ཕན། ཁྱོད་པས་ཀྱང་སློབ་མ་དང་དེའི་སློབ་མ་ནས་མར་རིམ་པ་བཞིན་དུ་ཕན་ཇེ་ཆེར་འགྱུར་ལ་བར་དོར་ཕྱག་རྒྱ་ཆེན་པོ་འགྲུབ་པར་འགྱུར་ཞེས་གསུངས་ཏེ་མི་སྣང་བར་གྱུར་ཏོ། །དེ་ནས་ནཱ་རོ་པས་བཤད་སྒྲུབ་གཉིས་ཀ་མཛད་པས་རྟོགས་པ་སྐྱེས་ཏེ། འཆར་བ་མེད་ཅིང་ནུབ་པའང་མེད། །ཉིན་མོ་མེད་ཅིང་མཚན་མོའང་མེད། །ཅེས་སོགས་ཀྱི་གླུ་བླངས་ཏེ། ཕྱག་རྒྱ་ཆེན་པོའི་དངོས་གྲུབ་མ་ཐོབ་ཀྱང་རྒྱལ་པོ་དཔུང་དང་བཅས་པ་རེངས་པར་བྱེད་པ་དང་། ཚོགས་འཁོར་སོགས་ཀྱི་དུས་སུ་ཤིང་ཐོག་ལ་སོགས་པ་དགུག་ནུས་པ་དང་། སྦྱིན་སྲེག་གི་ཐབ་ཀྱི་ནང་དུ་ལྷ་སུམ་ཅུ་རྩ་བདུན་ཞལ་ལྟ་ནུས་པ་སོགས་ཏིང་ངེ་འཛིན་གྱི་རྟོགས་པ་བརྟན་པོར་ཐོབ་པས། པུར་སྦྱངས་པའི་ཤུལ་དུ་ཡང་ཟླ་བ་རེ་རེ་བཞིན་དུ་རོལ་མོའི་སྒྲ་དང་མེ་ཏོག་གི་ཆར་ལ་སོགས་པའི་ལྷའི་མཆོད་པ་ཡང་ཀུན་གྱིས་མཐོང་ཞིང་ཐོས་པ་ཡིན་ནོ། །དེ་ཉིད་ཀྱིས་རྗེས་སུ་བཟུང་ཞིང་བྱིན་གྱིས་བརླབས་པ་ནི་དཔལ་ཕམ་འཐིང་པ་སྐུ་མཆེད་བཞི་སྟེ། དེ་ཡང་རིགས་ནི་བ་རོ་ཞེས་བྱ་བ་ཡིན་ལ་ཆེ་ཤོས་དགེ་སློང་ཆོས་ཀྱི་བློ་གྲོས་ཀྱིས་ནཱ་རོ་པའི་སྤྱན་སྔར་ལོ་བཅུ་གཉིས་བཞུགས། དེ་གདན་འདྲེན་དུ་དེའི་གཅུང་པོ་དགེ་སློང་འཇིགས་མེད་གྲགས་པས་བྱོན་པ་ལ་ཁྱོད་ངའི་བླ་མའི་སྤྱན་སྔར་སྡོད་ཅིག ཁོ་བོ་ལ་བླ་མས་

三个国王作为证人设立法庭进行辩论，结果导师似乎稍微逊色。导师心想，像我这样精通辩论的人怎么会显得逊色呢？他回忆起之前违背导师教诲的过错，于是忏悔并祈祷。他以意念祈祷，这时，提洛巴尊者左手拿着一个刚砍下的人头出现了。那若巴向他顶礼，裸体外道说道：“向这种毫无慈悲、长相如罗刹的人顶礼，你已经失败了。”提洛巴尊者说道：“失败！失败！”然后，他三次用恐吓的手势指向外道的寺庙，那寺庙的形状像佛塔，有八个角和三层楼，结果三层楼都倒塌了。裸体外道们都吓坏了，全都向导师的脚下顶礼，所有的裸体外道都被纳入了佛教。这时，提洛巴尊者说道：“你今生没有获得最高成就的福分，但你可以传法，利益众生。你和你的弟子，以及他们的弟子，会逐渐带来更大的利益，并且在临终中阴时，会成就大手印。”说完，他就消失了。之后，那若巴尊者同时进行闻法和修行，生起了证悟。他唱道：“没有生起，也没有消逝；没有白天，也没有夜晚。”虽然他没有获得大手印的成就，但他能够使国王和军队僵硬，在会供等场合能够召唤水果等物，并且能够在火供的火坛中看到三十七尊本尊的面容。由于他获得了坚定的禅定证悟，所以在火葬场，每个月都能听到乐器的声音和看到天降花雨等天神的供养。帕塘巴的四位兄弟受到了他的摄受和加持。他们的种族是瓦热。其中最年长的比丘法智在那若巴尊者面前住了十二年。他的弟弟比丘无畏称去邀请他，（那若巴对他说：）“你留在我的上师面前吧，上师对我……”

Three kings set up a court as witnesses and debated, and as a result, the teacher seemed slightly inferior. The teacher thought, "How can someone as skilled in debate as I am appear inferior?" He recalled the fault of having previously disobeyed the teacher's teachings, so he confessed and prayed. He prayed with his mind, and then Tilopa appeared, holding a freshly severed human head in his left hand. Naropa prostrated to him, and the naked ascetic said, "By prostrating to such a heartless, Rakshasa-like figure, you have already failed." Tilopa said, "Failure! Failure!" Then, he made a threatening gesture three times towards the ascetic's temple, which was shaped like a stupa with eight corners and three stories, and as a result, all three stories collapsed. The naked ascetics were all frightened and prostrated at the teacher's feet, and all the naked ascetics were brought into the Buddhist teachings. At that time, Tilopa said, "You do not have the fortune to attain the highest accomplishment in this lifetime, but you can teach the Dharma and benefit many beings. You and your disciples, and their disciples, will gradually bring greater benefit, and in the bardo of dying, you will accomplish Mahamudra." Having said this, he disappeared. After that, Naropa practiced both hearing and contemplation, and realization arose. He sang, "There is no arising, and there is no ceasing; there is no day, and there is no night." Although he did not attain the accomplishment of Mahamudra, he was able to make kings and armies stiff, and he was able to summon fruits and other things during gatherings and so on. He was also able to see the faces of the thirty-seven deities in the fire altar of the fire puja. Because he had attained a firm samadhi realization, everyone saw and heard the sounds of musical instruments and the rain of flowers and other divine offerings in the cremation ground every month. The four brothers of Paltempa were taken care of and blessed by him. Their clan was called Waro. The eldest, the monk Chokyi Lodro, stayed in front of Naropa for twelve years. His younger brother, the monk Jikme Drakpa, went to invite him, (Naropa said to him:) "You stay in front of my guru, the guru to me..."
