Of the two, first, purifying the five aggregates requires five families, purifying the four elements requires four mothers, purifying the six internal sense bases requires six heroes, and purifying the six external sense bases requires six goddesses. The basis for purification of the six heroes is the six internal sense bases, which are the internal sense bases derived from the elements. Because they are not external, the six heroes who purify are not placed in the mandala of quiescence and the painted mandala. If one thinks that the purifiers will be lacking, that is not the case. During the near accomplishment of the small, medium, and large divisions and fruits, the eyes and so forth are blessed as the six heroes, and this is for the sake of purification. Therefore, it is also unreasonable for Ratnasambhava to place twenty-one deities here. In the tradition of the noble ones, the body and the arising mandala are both fully arranged with thirty-two deities, but here the meaning is that the purifier of the internal sense bases is placed in the internal sense bases, and the purifier of the external sense bases is placed in the mandala. It does not mean that if the basis for purification is not external, it is necessarily not placed in the two mandalas. The second is to abandon the four things to be abandoned, such as disbelief, the four maras, and the four obscurations, and then to take the four powers to be taken, such as faith. In general, the four wrathful deities are considered to be those who enter the city of liberation through the power of wisdom. In order to accomplish these needs, during the near accomplishment, the number of deities is fixed at nineteen in the mandala of arising and writing, which seems to be a wonderful tradition. The second explanation is that the Victorious One explained it this way in the commentary on the empowerment: Because the six Vajra Mothers are the nature of offerings, they are placed in the mandala of giving. Because Ksitigarbha and others do not give, the number of deities in the mandala is fixed at nineteen. Why is the number fixed? Because with the nature of faith, diligence, mindfulness, and samadhi, the four doors of liberation, with the nature of the four wrathful deities, one is separated from disbelief, laziness, forgetfulness, and distraction, and enters the city of liberation through wisdom, therefore there are four wrathful deities. By the union of images, fire...

Like the reflection of the moon in water, the Buddha's body is shown, and from the Dharma sound Vajra-ma obtained from that showing, one hears and develops faith in the selflessness of those. By taking the joy of faith that is higher and higher as the cause, the first four Vajra-mas, which are the practice of the accumulation path, are taught. By this, appearance is obtained, appearance increases, one thoroughly enters one aspect of the meaning of Suchness, and the characteristics of uninterrupted samadhi, and touching the four parts of decisive discrimination is the Touching Vajra-ma. Then, on the first bhumi, the emptiness that goes everywhere is manifested, which is the Dharmadhatu Vajra-ma. Then, during the path of meditation, in order to cultivate familiarity, there are four goddesses, such as the Nature Eye. From this, the five wisdoms appear on the path of no more learning, which are the five families. From this, what should be accomplished is accomplished, and there is no need to practice here, which is its meaning. Therefore, it is thought that the number of deities is fixed at nineteen. Thirdly, it is unreasonable to conceive of other numbers. As it says in the "Nyimpa'i Metok" (A Handful of Flowers), in the sixteenth chapter of the Root Tantra, "The supreme Vajra of body, speech, and mind, should be placed everywhere in the mandala." This indicates that some think that ten goddesses should be taken. On top of the ten goddesses, there are also: body is Ksitigarbha, speech is Lokeshvara, mind is Vajrapani, Vajra is Akashagarbha, Nivarana-Vishkambhin, and the three Samantabhadras, the supreme is the ten goddesses, totaling sixteen, and it is thought that these sixteen should be taken and placed in the mandala. Otherwise, saying "all" would become meaningless. These are also determined from the topic of discussion and the praise of the Great Mandala. The above explains two views of one's own school. But this is also a bit unreasonable, because all the actions of the ritual seem to follow the feet of the great teacher Buddha Jñanapada, therefore, negating the number of deities with the great teacher's view is contradictory. The way the sixteenth chapter's text takes sixteen deities is also too extreme, because if that were the case, all the deities of the mandala could be explained on top of it. In the topic of discussion, six, such as the Samaya Vajra, are mentioned, and in the praise of the Great Mandala, the purity of the six inner sources is mentioned, therefore, the six heroes
