As taught. Therefore, it is not contradictory to hold that there is no difference in the nature of the three lower causal classes and the result. The second question is, in the context of prophecy, the statement "Is this very life a Buddha?" is a prophecy of attaining the fruit of the pāramitās. How does this reconcile with the statement that it takes at least three countless kalpas to achieve Buddhahood? The answer is: The meaning of the prophecy is that in this very life of practicing the unsurpassed path, one will also attain the fruit of whatever is attained through the pāramitās. The statement that it takes at least three countless kalpas to achieve Buddhahood refers to the path of the pāramitās themselves, so there is no contradiction whatsoever. The third question is, if there is no difference in realization, then there is no difference in qualities, which is the nature of reality, just like the Buddhas. Furthermore, the commentary on the Praise of Selflessness states: "The difference in realization is from the first bhūmi onwards. Between the first bhūmi and the Buddha bhūmi, there is no difference in merely realizing the nature of reality, but there is a great difference in the aspects of qualities." How is it that realization and qualities are said to be different? The answer is: The former means that the wisdom of ordinary beings and the path of seeing of the pāramitās are the same in terms of the characteristics of the path of seeing, but when one wants to differentiate between having or not having the qualities of shaking the four continents, etc., if there is no difference in realization, then there is no difference in qualities, so that wisdom of ordinary beings must also have hundreds of thousands of qualities such as shaking the four continents. The latter means that from the first bhūmi to the Buddha bhūmi, in meditative equipoise, there is no difference in merely realizing the dharmadhātu of intrinsic purity, but there is a difference in how one realizes the nature of reality that is free from adventitious stains. Moreover, in post-meditation, there are differences in guiding to certainty regarding the meaning of the dharmadhātu that pervades all things and the supreme meaning, so there are also differences in qualities. It is not that the former means that there is no difference in realization from the first bhūmi to the Buddha bhūmi, so there is no difference in qualities. Merely realizing the nature of the dharmadhātu itself does not establish that there is no difference in realization in general, because all four schools of tenets assert that there is no difference in merely realizing the nature of a pot.

It is just like how, even without a picture, there is a very large difference in understanding the state of a vase. The fourth question is about how the four tantra classes are established in correspondence with the four philosophical schools, with four different generation stages. The Gelugpas say that their own tradition is not one of the four philosophical schools. Regarding this, the oral tradition of the previous master says that if there is one's own tradition that accepts the Mind-Only school, then it accomplishes the meaning. My own understanding is also that, from the perspective of one's own tradition, it can be summarized into the view of the Mind-Only school, because it realizes that external objects have no self-nature and clings to the inner mind. However, you (the master) state that the meaning of summarizing one's own tradition into the Madhyamaka school is the general characteristic. The answer to the question about a detailed reason for this is that it is absolutely not the case that the four tantra classes are established in correspondence with the four philosophical schools from the general characteristic. The general term in the scriptures, "four philosophical schools," refers to the Vaibhashika, Sautrantika, Madhyamaka, and Mind-Only schools. The view of the general characteristic is: In the Vehicle of Characteristics, there are four possibilities: accepting an inexpressible self of a person; not accepting that but accepting external objects; not accepting that but accepting the apprehension of a subject; and accepting that there is no apprehension because there is no object to be apprehended. Among these, the first is the two schools of the Hinayana Shravakas, the Sthavira and Vatsiputriya; the second is the two schools of the Mahayana Shravakas, the Kashmiris and the Sautrantikas; the third is the Holy Pratyekabuddha; and the fourth is the Madhyamaka and Mind-Only schools. Because they have four philosophical schools, it is inappropriate to call those who hold these schools "four philosophical schools," as mentioned earlier. Therefore, the Gelugpas saying that the Pratyekabuddha is not one of the four philosophical schools is also a misunderstanding of the opponent's view. It is not the case that just because one holds one philosophical school, one is classified as one of the four philosophical schools. Some notes say that if there is a Pratyekabuddha who accepts the Mind-Only school, then it accomplishes the meaning. However, the person writing the notes does not necessarily fully record the oral tradition. The view of the general characteristic is to combine the philosophical school of the Holy Pratyekabuddha with the Yoga Tantra, and to combine the philosophical school of the Mind-Only with the Anuttarayoga Tantra, therefore it accomplishes the meaning.
