Therefore, it is said. If one clings to the non-affirming negation that negates the truth, the view of the Middle Way, it is harmed by the aforementioned reliable scriptures. It is said in the tantras to be a root downfall. If the views of the three vehicles are not different, then the Protector Maitreya, regarding the three vehicles, says that the realization of selflessness has three levels, and the Great Vehicle has three: the path of joining, the path of seeing, and the path of meditation. Compared to the path of joining, the path of seeing, and the path of meditation of the inferior vehicle, it contradicts the statement that the view is superior. Nagarjuna says that the signless has the difference between complete realization and non-realization, and Chandrakirti also says that the wisdom of the three spheres being empty, and the inconceivable nature of reality, etc., contradict the statement of the difference in views. Reasoning can also harm it, for from the very path of seeing of the inferior vehicle, the Tathagatagarbha will be seen. If you assert this, then it will transcend the arising of birth, etc., from karma and afflictions, and it contradicts the statement of Asanga that the Hearers and Solitary Realizers' view, the person who does not have the eye of the essence, is incompatible. If you completely negate inherent existence from the perspective of the object, without relying on the mind, then it contradicts the statement of Bhāviveka, who asserted that external objects are established from their own side. If the meaning of imputation is sought but cannot be found, where do you posit conventional and ultimate truth? If it is conventional, then the name that imputes it should also be conventional, because they are established in mutual dependence. As it is said in the Middle Way: The agent depends on the action, and the action also depends on the agent. If one does not understand that it arises from them, then one does not see the cause of establishment. By means of the agent and the power of action, one should know the remaining things. The remaining things that are spoken of refer to what is said and what can be said, etc., encompassing all that is established in dependence. If it cannot be found in ultimate truth, if that is the meaning, then all phenomena cannot be found in ultimate truth, because the self and others are the same, how can the unique characteristic of one thing be established? Whatever object the mind clings to, if it is analyzed and negated by reason, if it is a wrong conception, then from the Buddha onwards, all the learned and accomplished masters of Tibet and China have been associated with that wrong conception, because they negate the objects of clinging to the duality of emptiness and non-emptiness, etc. By the reasoning of one and many, if the object clung to by conceptual mind is truly established, if you negate it, then your commitment will be broken. If you do not negate it, then by what means will you negate the wrong conception of clinging to reality? As long as conceptual mind exists, regarding the object of

When examining the true nature, the two, having and not having harm, are without contact in the past and future. If it is the desired beginning, what harms it? What is said to harm this? In the Treatise on the Root of the Middle Way, it is said, "It is also labeled as 'self,' and it is also shown as 'no-self.' The Buddhas also say there is self and no-self, and also say there is not a little." Thus it is said, and furthermore, in that very text, it is said, "All is real, not real, the very nature of real and not real, not real, not real, not real. This is the teaching following the Buddha." Thus it is said, what does not harm it? However, in the presence of the noble one's equipoise, when all elaboration is completely pacified, there is no fault of the two, because the former has no attachment. When examining the true nature with reason, the real nature of the two negations is that the Protector Nagarjuna, with perfect knowledge as it is, does not accept existence and non-existence. Therefore, if it becomes non-existent, why does it not become existent? If existence is refuted, then by function this establishes non-existence. Likewise, if non-existence is refuted, why does it not establish existence? Thus it is said, what does not contradict it? The terminology of the Middle Way is not reasonable, because when the extreme of permanence is blocked, it becomes the extreme of annihilation, etc. When either of the two extremes is blocked, it becomes the other. Some, when establishing terminology, also say neither existent nor non-existent, etc., speaking of freedom from the four extremes of elaboration. This is what the Teacher says in the sutras: "The world disputes with me, but I do not dispute with the world. Whatever the world says exists or does not exist, I also say." This contradicts that. Considering this, Chandrakirti also said, "When establishing terminology, if existence and non-existence, etc., are blocked, it is harmed by the world, so existence and non-existence should be spoken of separately." It is also harmed by reason, because all conventionalities do not transcend the elaboration of the four extremes, so the establishment of conventionalities becomes unreasonable. It will be explained how it contradicts experience. When asked about the existence or non-existence of food, clothing, fire, water, etc., if the Madhyamika says neither existent nor non-existent, then the intended meaning is not accomplished, and it is seen to become a cause of dispute for others. In conventionality, there is also a need for neither existent nor non-existent, such as the result at the time of the cause and the intended meaning. For the remaining phenomena that can appear, existence, non-existence, is and is not, etc., in the separate speech of the Middle
