The great Vajradhara achiever Drakpa Gyaltsen, who has abandoned the stains of, says in the commentary on the Twenty Verses that, if so, it says in the Vajra Peak Sutra: "Abiding in the three vows, the first is said to be bathing." It is said that one person's continuum has three vows: Pratimoksha, Bodhisattva, and Vidyadhara, which is contradictory. If so, the meaning is this: In general, the nature of what is called Pratimoksha is to turn away from things that are fundamentally harmful to others. On top of that, wanting and entering to benefit others is the Bodhisattva vow. On top of that, Vidyadhara is the Vidyadhara vow. There are two Pratimokshas: the Pratimoksha of the Hearers and the Pratimoksha of the Bodhisattvas. Here, the Pratimoksha of the Bodhisattva is suitable as the basis for both obtaining and abiding in the vow, but the former is not, so the intention of the Vajra Peak Sutra is the Pratimoksha of the Bodhisattva. Is there another ritual for taking the Bodhisattva vow, or is it the Pratimoksha vow itself? If one has previously obtained the Pratimoksha vow, then later, when obtaining the Bodhisattva vow, the previous one will be transformed into abiding in the Bodhisattva vow. If one has not previously obtained it, then at the time of the Bodhisattva's aspiration, one will obtain the Pratimoksha vow of the Bodhisattva. Enough of elaboration. In the Root Downfall Confusion Confession, it says: Here some say: "Starting from the Three Refuges." This refers to the common refuge and the Pratimoksha. Moreover, the Vajra Peak Sutra also says: "Pratimoksha and Bodhicitta, Vidyadhara is their own nature." Both of these statements are flawed, because there is no internal contradiction between the Vidyadhara and Bodhisattva vows. However, this Pratimoksha vow cannot be the basis for obtaining the Bodhisattva vow, because the Pratimoksha only arises in men and non-men and non-women of the three continents, while Bodhicitta is said to arise in all sentient beings. Moreover, it is also unreasonable as a basis for abiding, because the Pratimoksha is abandoned after death, while Bodhicitta does not

If it is said for the sake of abandoning, then just as you say, we also say that the Pratimoksha vows common to the Shravakas cannot serve as the basis for attainment and abiding. So, what are your three vows that do not precede the Pratimoksha? Here, the nature of the Pratimoksha vow is to turn away from harming others, including the root. The Bodhisattva vow is to engage in benefiting others on top of that, and the Vidyadhara vow is to enjoy all of these after blessing them with the wisdom of the deity's form, so there is no contradiction in this. So, if someone who previously obtained the Pratimoksha vow, even up to the Bhikshu vow, later generates Bodhicitta and receives empowerment again, how does this person possess the vows? When a Bhikshu generates Bodhicitta, all the Pratimoksha vows are transformed into Bodhisattva vows. When entering the Mandala, all the vows are also called the Vidyadhara vows. Thus, it is said in the Tantra in One Hundred Thousand Verses, which comes from the 'Accomplishment of the Wisdom of Suchness': 'Due to the differences in the types of stones, iron, copper, and silver appear when smelted. The substance of the philosopher's stone transforms everything into gold. Similarly, due to the differences in mind, the vows of the three types of lineages, upon entering this great Mandala, are called Vajradhara.' So it is said. In that example, the stone is ordinary, iron is the training of the Shravakas, copper is the training of the Pratyekabuddhas, silver is the training of the Bodhisattvas, and the philosopher's stone is clearly the training of the Vajrayana. So it is said. The second part has two points: the way the vows transform when taken in sequence, and the way the essence is the same when all three are possessed. The first point is that, in general, the sequence of taking the three vows is to first take any of the seven types of Pratimoksha vows of the Shravakas, then take the Bodhisattva vow through the Mind Generation ritual, and then the way of taking the Mantra vow; or first take the Pratimoksha vow of the Mahayana, and then the way of taking the two higher vows in sequence; or first take any of the Pratimoksha vows of the Shravakas, and then take the Mantra
