Furthermore, it is said that the vows of a Bodhisattva should also be combined. The Venerable One (Tsongkhapa) spoke of five points: where to take the vows, how many vows to take, what to abandon in order to take the vows, by what means to take the vows, and the nature of the vows themselves. Moreover, each point is applied to the completion stage, using the Pratimoksha vows as an example. When discussing what to abandon in order to take the vows, the Bodhisattva vows are also used as an example. If those meanings are applied to all four vows—Pratimoksha, Bodhisattva, Generation Stage, and Completion Stage—then, as mentioned above, the place for taking vows, in terms of Pratimoksha, is the place where the four groups, such as Nalanda, gather. In terms of Bodhisattva vows, it is like saying, "To regard the place of support as the very place to be offered to." The place where each individual resides. In terms of the Generation Stage, if according to meditative equipoise, it is one's own mind; if according to subsequent attainment, it is where the objects of appearance are. In terms of the Completion Stage, if according to self-blessing, it is generally all the chakras, and especially the navel chakra; if according to the mandala wheel, it is the place of empowerment. How many vows to take, in terms of Pratimoksha, all the things to be trained in by body and speech are summarized into five, eight, ten, two hundred and fifty-three, etc. In terms of Bodhisattva vows, all the things to be trained in by mind are summarized into the three trainings or the six perfections. In terms of the Generation Stage, if according to meditative equipoise, then all that should be purified is summarized into the wheel of the mandala; if according to subsequent attainment, it is summarized into the deity or the nature of each deity. In terms of the Completion Stage, all the phenomena that exist externally are summarized internally into the four chakras, etc. What to abandon in order to take the vows, in terms of Pratimoksha, is the misconduct of body and speech; in terms of Bodhisattva vows, it is the misconduct of mind; in terms of the Generation Stage, it is ordinary conceptual thought; in terms of the Completion Stage, it is the conceptual thought of pride in extraordinary deities. By what means to take the vows, in terms of Pratimoksha, it is the four karmas, etc.; in terms of Bodhisattva vows, it is the ceremony of generating the mind, etc.; in terms of both the Generation and Completion Stages, it is first the empowerment ceremony, and later, what is manifested is through the method of practicing the Generation and Completion Stages. The nature of the vows themselves, the Sanskrit word "Samvara (藏文:སམ་པ་ར་,梵文:samvara,梵文罗马拟音:samvara,汉语字面意思:戒律)" refers to tending towards the supreme bliss, therefore, because one becomes blissful through it, it is the vow. In terms of Pratimoksha, it is said that the asceticism of those who are in harmony is bliss; in terms of Bodhisattva vows, it is "I take refuge in that source of bliss." In terms of the Generation Stage, the method is comf

The vows of, etc. As it says in the Completion Stage, "The very nature of self-awareness is great bliss." and so on. The bliss here is not the bliss of feeling, nor the bliss of extreme pliancy, etc., but the sum of the different aspects to be abandoned by each, becoming the supreme of bliss. Second, there are three: the ritual of taking vows, the object to be taken, and the person who is the basis. First, there are three, of which the first, the ritual of individual liberation, is divided into two: the ritual of individual liberation of the Hearers, and the ritual of individual liberation of the Great Vehicle. First, there are three: the ritual of taking the upavāsa vows, the ritual of taking the three trainings for men, and the ritual applied to the four trainings for women. The first is, as stated in the Treasury, "Sitting low, speaking recitations, not with adornments or in the morning, complete with the limbs of the upavāsa, in the morning, one should receive it from another." The second is, as stated in the Karmaśata, "First with the lay vows, request with the preceptor initially, novice shadow time, the training is said to be the last. Initially do with the preceptor, two Dharma robes and two bowls, arrangement request secret saying, request and request and request, question and action and shadow time, day and night time places, downfall and virtuous conduct supreme desire, discipline same discipline related, subdue need unspoken, respect and what is accomplished, heretic dwelling giving, categories truly summarized." As explained, "first with" refers to the preliminary ritual of requesting in advance, with the four karmas, ordaining simultaneously and the preliminary ritual of full ordination. "Lay" refers to asking about obstacles in advance, with refuge as the beginning, becoming a layperson. "Training" refers to the subsequent declaration of the layperson's training. "Request with" refers to entrusting the one to be tamed to the bhikṣu who requests ordination, and then by him requesting the sangha. "Preceptor" refers to requesting the preceptor. "Initially" refers to the subsequent shaving of the hair and bathing by another bhikṣu. The one fit to be the preceptor gives the five implements and names him. "Ordination" refers to the subsequent becoming an intermediate renunciate.
