Third, breaking the three deviations of clinging to mental ease, clarity, and non-conceptuality, namely, abandoning the four ways of straying: straying into nature, straying into meditation, straying into the path, and straying into proliferation. Taking the practice of resting in a natural, unfabricated, relaxed, soft, and loose state. As it is said: This mind, bound by ropes, if loosened, there is no doubt of liberation. Like a Brahmin spinning thread, rest in a natural, unfabricated, and relaxed state. This was said by the great Brahmin. All the so-called Mahamudra of today do not go beyond the Dzogchen of the Chinese tradition. The first two lines of that text are the words of a Brahmin, but the latter two are purely fabricated. On this, the letter of the Buddhas of the ten directions says: Some introduce Mahamudra as the single white. Abandon the four ways of straying and the three deviations, and meditate in the innate state. Like a Brahmin spinning thread, rest in a natural, unfabricated, and relaxed state. This is called Mahamudra. If one examines the meaning of this, it is seen as follows: Resting in a natural state is like wool itself. If made into thread, it becomes fabricated. Therefore, there is a flaw in this example. The flaw in the meaning is also seen as follows: If merely cutting off the three deviations becomes Mahamudra, then the cessation of the Shravakas would also become that. The thought of abandoning the four ways of straying is not Mahamudra. If there is no conceptuality, one cannot abandon. If one can abandon even without conceptuality, then why do all sentient beings not effortlessly generate Mahamudra? Therefore, if it is truly Mahamudra, there are no ways of straying or deviations. If there are, it is not Mahamudra. And so on, it is extensively refuted through these means. The fourth has four aspects: conforming to the tradition of Naropa and Maitripa, conforming to the tradition of the noble Nagarjuna, conforming to the tantras and other treatises, and the benefits of realizing such Mahamudra. First, Naropa and so on, six verses, the Mahamudra accepted by those two great accomplished ones is, according to the Sambhuti Tantra, the method of combining the four mudras with the ten dharmas of the four sets, such as the four A-vams and the four chakras. Furthermore, in the Mahamudra Ganga Ma, given by Tilopa to Naropa, it is said: Speak of mantras and speak of Paramitas. Speak of the three baskets of the Vinaya, but be certain that Mahamudra is one.

And the dharmas such as the Tripitaka, their respective treatises and philosophical tenets, will not reveal the Great Seal of Clear Light. Do not fixate on the mind, be free from all desires. Thus it is said. In Maitripa's "Condensed Words on the Great Seal," it says: Appearances self-liberate, the realm of Dharma. Thoughts self-liberate, great wisdom. Non-dual equality, the Dharmakaya. Flows like the current of a great river. Thus it is said. The twentieth chapter of the same text says: The two mudras of action and samaya, are the very essence of perfecting the mandala. The ultimate enlightenment is to meditate on turning towards the pure suchness. By uniting the wisdom mudra, primarily with peaceful Vajra and others. The nature of meditating on oneself, neither true nor false, is intermediate. Thus it is said. The twentieth chapter of the Mahayana says: The one who maintains the state of union, possessing all supreme aspects, the nature of non-existence, uncompounded, to the original state I prostrate. Thus it is said. Naropa's system of Mahamudra is: In the Vajra verses of the Six Dharmas, it says: The hand is held by non-dual wisdom, the seal is the unraveling of the knots of samsara, the great lamp of union is born, the self-liberated Dharmakaya is not realized by others. Quoting this scripture and explaining it, in the Sanskrit vocabulary of the Indian "Mahamudra," there is no Sanskrit vocabulary for "hand," and when explaining "Mahamudra" below, explaining the meaning of the word hand, this is a wrong statement, a source of doubt. Therefore, the four mudras of this system are, considering that there is a way to combine the four stages of completion of Chakrasamvara, so I will not elaborate here. The second is, the six, such as the noble Nagarjuna, say in the fourth mudra: Relying on the karma mudra, the result of the same cause is produced. Because it arises similarly, it is the same cause. Just as the image of the face arises relying on a mirror, it is impossible for it not to arise. Because it was not established before, it is not established now either. Therefore, the image of the face is only understood as a likeness. Thus, worldly people see their own faces and become happy. Similarly, inferior teachers with inferior students cultivate wisdom,
