Therefore, what needs to be approached in this treatise is what was said earlier. Like this, if the four classes of tantras have four different situations of maturing empowerment and liberating path, then what is explained in this treatise? Here, what is mainly explained is the stages of the path of the Unsurpassed. Generally speaking, it is called Secret Mantra and Vajrayana, but in terms of maturation, four empowerments are needed; in terms of liberation, two stages are needed. Because these are not present in the lower tantras. Moreover, from the stages of the path spoken of here, namely the two aspects of maturation and liberation, the arising of the wisdom of Mahamudra, and the actions arising from familiarizing oneself with Mahamudra, as well as the way in which the four Kayas of the fruit are accomplished from this, all appear to be merely the stages of the path of the Unsurpassed. Why is it explained in this way? Because this treatise mainly lies in preventing wrong conceptualizations, and it seems that the occurrence of wrong conceptualizations about the path of the Unsurpassed is the most serious. Incidentally, the stages of the lower tantras are also explained slightly, because in these tantras, there are also some wrong conceptualizations, such as thinking that there are also four empowerments in terms of maturation, and two stages in terms of liberation, and thinking that there is self-generation of deities in the Action Tantra, etc. Second, entering into the meaning of the treatise is divided into two aspects: briefly explaining and explaining in detail. The first aspect is the three sentences "of Vajrayana" etc. According to the way of entering in stages for those with lesser faculties, first the practice of the two vows must be done, and then entering into Vajrayana etc. According to the way of sudden enlightenment for those with good faculties, then there is no need to rely on common practice, and one enters into Vajrayana etc. from the beginning. The second aspect is divided into five aspects: the four kinds of unerring maturing empowerments, the two kinds of undeluded liberating stages, the wisdom Mahamudra arising from both empowerment and stage, the actions of mixing samsara and nirvana arising from familiarizing oneself with Mahamudra, and the way of traversing the bhumis and paths by relying on these, thereby manifesting the fruit. The first aspect is divided into three aspects: advising to practice unerring maturation, advising to abandon deluded maturation, and refuting deluded cognitions about the vows obtained from empowerment. The first aspect is the two verses "maturing" etc., namely striving for both maturation and liberation. Among them, "maturing" refers to from Vajradhara to the root guru

As the lineage of the lama has not declined, and the rituals of the three, preliminary, actual, and subsequent, have not been confused, and one is skilled in arranging the outer and inner interdependent connections, and is able to plant the seeds of the four bodies in the aggregates, elements, and sources of the disciples, in short, one should seek a lama who acts as the Buddha said in the tantras, and receive the four empowerments, so that the individual who is the basis will become one who possesses the three vows. If one has previously taken the lower two vows, then at the time of empowerment they will be transformed into the mantra vows, and if one has not taken them previously, then at the time of preparation one will obtain individual liberation and the bodhisattva vow, and one should take the words of the venerable one as the standard. Second, there are four points: refuting the assertion that what is not a ripening factor is a ripening factor, refuting the assertion that the empowerment of a ripening factor is not necessary, refuting the assertion that it is necessary but is practiced incorrectly, and refuting the assertion that there are four extremes of empowerment. First, there are four points: refuting that blessings are a ripening factor, refuting that empowerments of indefinite number are a ripening factor, refuting that empowerments of impure mandalas are a ripening factor, and refuting that empowerments of impure rituals are a ripening factor. First, there are two points: stating the former position, and refuting it. The first is: Nowadays, vajra, etc., one verse, opening the Dharma gate with a pig (Vajravarahi) occurred during the time of Dakpo Lhaje, when disciples were sent to other lamas to request empowerment, and they stayed there, and most of them did not return, so it was said that we also need someone in our own family who can do empowerment, and Kongne Rupa said, can I do a pig's head empowerment? (Dakpo Lhaje) said yes, and so he did a pig's (Vajravarahi) blessing. After that, the lama taught the Six Dharmas of Naropa, Mahamudra, etc., and from then on, one requested empowerment from the one who opened the Dharma gate, and the lama gave guidance, so even though one did not receive the empowerment of Chakrasamvara, one could open the Dharma gate of the Six Dharmas merely by the blessing of Vajravarahi. Second, there are three points: revealing the harm of blessings being a ripening factor, refuting the establishment of blessings being a ripening factor, and if blessings can open the Dharma gate, then it is too much. First, there are four points: there is no knower, the faults are great, there is no benefit, and it contradicts the scriptures. The first is: Like this, tantras, etc., two, without empowerment, merely by blessings opening the Dharma gate and practicing the completion stage
