It is such a thought. Like this, it directly prohibits the three impure meats, implying the permission of the three pure meats. Also, the scriptures say: For the fish and meat, etc., that are allowed for virtuous people, if they appear in the alms bowl, one should think, is this not human meat, etc.? If not, then it can be eaten. In "The Blazing Intellect," it says: From the perspective of the Hinayana scriptures, if one eats the three pure meats, it will not become a sin, because it will turn into essence, etc. Just like begging for food is not sinful. Secondly, from the Lankavatara Sutra, it says: Mahamati, even in this life, among the seven households, if one is very greedy for meat and relies on the future, one will be reborn as a meat-eating dakini and a fierce dakini. Mahamati, even after those people change their lives, they will still fall into very fierce lives such as lions, tigers, leopards, jackals, foxes, cats, foxes, owls, and meat-eating beings, and insects that eat a lot of meat, because they are attached to the taste of meat. Those who fall there will find it difficult to even obtain a human body, let alone Nirvana. Mahamati, the faults of eating meat are those and so on, not to mention those who are close. Because there is no turning back, there are very many merits, and Mahamati and others should understand these merits and faults and others. After speaking extensively, it also says: Elephant Strength and Great Cloud, Nirvana and Angulimala, and also in the Lankavatara Sutra: I completely despise meat. Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and Shravakas also despise it, and eating meat without shame will always be reborn as a madman. Also, Manjushri expressed his own view in a concise way: Those who kill and are greedy for wealth will suffer for hundreds of millions of kalpas; those who eat meat and are greedy for the taste of meat will suffer for hundreds of millions of billions of kalpas. Also, anyone who eats meat will first become a preta, and later become a wailer. Also, in the Sutra Requested by Good Arms, it says: Meat, alcohol, onions, garlic, grains, butter, sesame, radishes, Surana, and the food of ghosts and gods, the torma offered to the gods, and the torma offered to Gulang should not be eaten.

So. The third is about the direct teachings of the Vinaya. Some wonder whether the permission of the three pure meats for the Shravakas is provisional or definitive. The teachers Yonaka and Shakyaprabha explained the direct teachings literally. In the Sutra Root it says: "If you know that the meat is offered as a sacrifice, do not eat it. Do not eat the placenta of a tiger. Do not eat the meat of elephants, horses, and dragons." And, regarding the giving and receiving of meat, one should ask: "Is it not produced from slaughter? If there are many, give it to the first; if there are few, give it to the last." In the Three Hundred Verses it says: "For virtuous people, fish and meat are allowed. For harmful and uncompassionate things, abandon attachment and the mind of completely seeking. For the food that comes into the alms bowl, examine it and then eat it." Thus it is said that meat is allowed to be eaten. That is also the three pure meats. Some say that the three pure meats are free from seeing, hearing, and suspecting for one's own sake, but not for the sake of the meat itself. This is not reasonable. In the Light Sutra it says: "Do not eat meat and fish that are intentionally killed. Even if it has been done, caused to be done, and rejoiced in, the three wheels are completely pure, but because uncompassion arises from intentional killing, and it is not appropriate, it is forbidden. Other than that, it is not forbidden." Thus it is said. Some explain that in the Lankavatara Sutra it says: "The three pure meats, unexamined, unobtained, and unrequested, cannot be abandoned. Therefore, do not eat meat." This is very wrong. Because what is said here is that the three pure meats mentioned in the Shravaka vehicle are also impure in three ways here, so they cannot be eaten. It is not to show the way of purification of the three pure meats of the Shravaka vehicle. Therefore, as it says in the Vinaya Summary: "Because the meat is intentionally killed, seen, heard, or suspected, therefore it should not be eaten. It is said to benefit all beings." Like this, it is free from seeing, hearing, and suspecting for the sake of meat. The Medicine Root quoted earlier says "for oneself," which is said in the case of a patient. The teacher Shantideva determined that the permission of the three pure meats in the Vinaya is provisional. In the Compendium of Trainings it says: "In the Vinaya, eating the three meats that are completely pure

If so, it will not become an obstacle to abandonment. What was given in this way was to eliminate the pride of those who see purity by abandoning it completely, and to abandon those who, although qualified, do not enter the teachings because of attachment to it. As it is said in the Sutra of the Descent into Lanka: "To speak of the teachings, and to establish the basis of learning from them in stages, arranging them in three ways like the rungs of a ladder. Below that, even those done on purpose are prohibited. Then, even the meat of the ten kinds of self-dead animals is prohibited." This is because it is clearly explained with quotations. The intention behind this is that a sick monk should take it for the sake of medicine, as it says in the Sutra King of Samadhi: "If this monk does the time of death, In Jambudvipa, all the sounds of Samadhi, Will always disappear for sentient beings. By reviving this, Samadhis will also be attained." As it is said. If a monk like Righteous Intelligence does not take meat medicine, he will do the time of death, and if he passes away, Samadhi will disappear in Jambudvipa. Therefore, it is intended for someone like this to be able to eat. The need is to subdue those like Devadatta who think that they are pure just by giving up meat, and those like King Kalmashapada who are attached to the taste of meat and do not enter the teachings. The harm to reality is stated in the Descent into Lanka: "Mahamati, it is said that meat food is not allowed for those who have gone forth with great intelligence." Mahamati, if someone slanders that the Tathagata also ate meat, then Mahamati, a foolish person abiding in the obscuration of the sins of his own karma, will for a long time create meaninglessness, harm, and unhappiness. Mahamati, my noble Shravakas do not even eat ordinary food, what need is there to mention meat and blood food? In the Great Nirvana Sutra, the Bhagavan said: 'Then, how did you allow the eating of meat that is completely pure in three ways?' The Buddha said: 'I spoke of the three pure meats in order to gradually restrain the basis of learning. That was also what I said at first. Sons of lineage, from now on, my Shravaka disciples must not eat meat. If alms are to be regarded as like the flesh of a child, how could I allow eating meat?'
