Because craving does not pervade non-separation from the feeling of pleasure, because there are three ways of craving for the three feelings. Therefore, craving from other realms may increase from the feelings of other realms, because the craving included in the first dhyana realm increases as the feeling of desire focuses on suffering and wants to be separated from it, because when observing the peace and roughness of desire and the first dhyana, that craving is included in the first dhyana realm. Think carefully! Third, is such a similar ground established as one part of the cause and effect included in samsara? Or is it established as two parts? According to the first, it contradicts the idea that the period from name and form to feeling, and birth and death, are on the same ground. According to the latter, it contradicts the idea that formations belong to the place where they are born, and that craving does not belong to the place where fruition is achieved. Just as ignorance and formations, the former cause and effect, are established as causes, the three later cause and effect of craving, grasping, and existence must also be established as causes. The second is divided into two: examining the similar ground of one part of the cause and effect included in samsara, and examining the similar ground of one part of the twelve links mentioned in the sutras. The first is: if we summarize the ways of being born from the nine grounds of the three realms, we can summarize them into three types: being born from one's own ground to one's own ground, being born from a lower ground to a higher ground, and being born from a higher ground to a lower ground. If we divide them in detail, there are ninety-one, because there are nine types of births from the desire realm from the nine grounds of the three realms, up to the nine types of births in the peak of existence. In this regard, of the twelve links, the eleven links after formations belong only to the place of birth where they are born. The six or seven links of maturation must be established as the contaminated aggregates of that birth, because the karma that attracts from other grounds does not attract the maturation of other grounds, and the karma that accomplishes from other grounds does not accomplish the maturation of other grounds. There are also nine types of ignorance that belong to the place of birth where they are born, that is, when one is born from the desire realm from the nine grounds of the three realms. The reason for this is that the ignorance included in the upper realm does not completely initiate the karma that can attract in the desire realm, because without obtaining the actual mind of the upper realm, there will be no ignorance of the upper realm.

It will not manifest, and because after obtaining the substance of the higher realms, it is impossible to accumulate the karma of rebirth in the desire realm without degenerating, because the desire realm is seen as inferior. Furthermore, among the nine rebirths from the nine grounds of the three realms to the first dhyana, ignorance is entirely included in the desire realm, because the ignorance included in the first dhyana and above does not generate the karma of projecting to the first dhyana, because to accumulate the karma of projecting to rebirth there, it is necessary to first arise with the approximation that has the aspect of quiescence and coarseness, thereby causing the lower realm to be separated from desire, and the ignorance that is the motivation must precede this. Furthermore, among the nine rebirths from the nine grounds of the three realms to the second dhyana, ignorance is entirely included in the first dhyana, because the ignorance included in the desire realm does not generate the karma of projecting to the second dhyana, and the ignorance of the second dhyana and above also does not generate the karma of projecting to the second dhyana. The former argument is established, because to accumulate the karma of projecting to rebirth in the second dhyana, it is necessary to obtain the substantial mind of the first dhyana. After obtaining this mind, it is necessary to abandon the ignorance that has become the abandonment of cultivation in the desire realm, and the ignorance that has become the abandonment of view in the desire realm is unwholesome, so it does not generate unwavering karma. By analogy, for all the nine-nine rebirths from the third dhyana up to the peak of existence, it should be known that the ignorance of their motivation is the immediately preceding lower realm. In summary, there are four possibilities for ignorance: belonging to both birth and death, such as being born from the desire realm to the desire realm. Belonging to the place of birth but not belonging to the place of death, such as being born from the upper eight grounds to the desire realm. Belonging to the place of death but not belonging to the place of birth, such as being born from the desire realm to the first dhyana, up to the eight cases of being born from the realm of nothingness to the peak of existence. Not belonging to both birth and death, are the remaining parts of the aforementioned seventeen cases. These are all in terms of the ignorance of the mind ground as the motivation, but if the ignorance accompanying the afflicted mind is the motivation, then ignorance belongs to the basis where karma is accumulated, because the afflicted mind is.
