If consciousness is taken as the aspect of cause, then from the previous action arises the subsequent consciousness with habituation. If consciousness is taken as the aspect of effect, then from the previous action arises the projection of consciousness into the place of birth. From consciousness arises name and form, if consciousness is taken as the aspect of cause, then from the consciousness with habituation, the habituation of name and form gradually increases. If consciousness is taken as the aspect of effect, then in the place of birth, in the second moment of the first formation, name and form gradually form. Due to name and form, the six sense sources arise, from the gradual increase of name and form, the six sense sources fully emerge. Due to the six sense sources, contact arises, from the meeting of the six sense sources with the object, the three of object, sense power, and consciousness gather, and fully understand the change of the object. Due to contact, feeling arises, as contact feels, so feeling also experiences. Due to feeling, craving arises, due to the control of feeling, attachment arises to the acceptance and rejection of the pleasure and pain of feeling. Due to craving, grasping arises, due to attachment to the essence of feeling, desire and attachment arise to the cause of feeling, to feeling. Due to grasping, becoming arises, due to the control of grasping, the karma that projects rebirth becomes powerful and strong. Due to becoming, birth arises, due to the control of becoming, beings are led to other realms and other places of birth. Due to birth, aging and death arise, due to the control of birth, age changes and the life force ceases. Third, the collection of limbs, divided into the collection of cause and effect, the collection of three afflictions, and the collection of four limbs of projection and accomplishment. The first is, as said in the Compendium of Abhidharma, ignorance, action, and consciousness are three, craving, grasping, and existence are six limbs of cause, and the remaining six are limbs of effect. As Nagarjuna said, consciousness is also considered a limb of effect, therefore it is considered that there are seven limbs of effect. The second is, ignorance, craving, and grasping are the afflictions of affliction, all afflictions of karma are

Because it can cause the ground, and can lead to the afflictions of existence, the three, namely action, consciousness, and craving, are the afflictions of karma, because they are instigated by the afflictions of affliction, and can lead to the afflictions of existence. The remaining six are the afflictions of existence, because they are the nature of the ripened result transformed from the fruit of karma and affliction. As Nagarjuna said, consciousness is also said to be the affliction of existence, because Nagarjuna said: "The first, eighth, and ninth are afflictions, the second and tenth are karma, the remaining seven are suffering." The Treasury of Knowledge, the Differentiation of the Middle and the Extremes, and the Basic Section of the Grounds also say the same. The Treasury of Knowledge says: "Three are afflictions, two are karma, seven are likewise the result." The Differentiation of the Middle and the Extremes says: "Three and two are karma and affliction, seven are not true, only consciousness." The Basic Section of the Grounds says: "Three are the path of affliction, two are the path of karma, seven are the path of suffering." What are the intentions of these? Asanga refers to the seed aspect of the alaya consciousness. The intention of Nagarjuna and the Treasury of Knowledge is based on the aspect of the alaya consciousness that has not been established. And the Differentiation of the Middle and the Extremes and the Basic Section of the Grounds both refer to the ripened aspect of the alaya consciousness. Third, all twelve links can be summarized into four links of attracting and accomplishing. If ignorance, action, and consciousness are established on the side of the cause, then the three consciousnesses are the attracting link, name and form, the six sense bases, contact, and feeling are the attracted link, craving, grasping, and existence are the accomplishing link, and birth and aging are the accomplished link. In the cause and effect of attracting, there are also three types: by what is it attracted, how is it attracted, and what is attracted. First, by what is it attracted is ignorance and action, because by the power of ignorance, action can accumulate karma. Second, how is it attracted is by the way of imprinting habits on consciousness, this is referring to the aspect of the cause. Third, what is attracted is divided into body and enjoyment, in terms of the nature of the body, it is name and form, in terms of the difference, it is the six sense bases, in terms of the enjoyment of objects in enjoyment, it is contact.
