In addition, they consider that the post-attainment should contemplate dependent origination, as stated in the "Two Appearances": The path of meditation is also contained within the nine samadhis of gradual abiding, and these are contained within the samadhi of sudden transcendence. Therefore, summarizing through the way it clearly indicates, in terms of the path of meditation, what is said is: The nine samadhis with cessation, coming and going in two ways, the consciousness belonging to desire, within the boundaries of non-samadhi, the samadhi of sudden transcendence, one and two three four and five, six and seven and eight surpassing, going differently until cessation. It is said that the two ways refer to conforming to the norm and not conforming to the norm. As it is said, from then on, enter the samadhi of the Lion's Vigorous Arising. After separately contemplating dependent origination, with a mind of non-samadhi, in ways that conform to the norm and do not conform to the norm, one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, suddenly transcend into samadhi, manifesting, therefore, it is said that one can obtain freedom as desired. It is said that "This sutra is," and afterwards only the previous preliminary practice, the Lion's Vigorous Arising, and the main practice, the two sutras of sudden transcendence, are cited. Secondly, in the large and small commentaries of the Acharya, the former scripture has already explained the path of seeing, especially the Lion's Vigorous Arising as the nature of the path, starting from "The nine samadhis with cessation," etc., explaining both the preliminary practice, the Lion's Vigorous Arising, and the main practice, sudden transcendence. From "Coming and going in two ways," the preliminary practice, the Lion's Vigorous Arising, is explicitly explained, and through its upward development, the small part of the main practice, sudden transcendence, is implied, and it seems that it should be considered that the middle part is implied, because there is no other indicator. The way the remaining parts are shown is the same as what was said before in the root verses. Some people think that, according to this method, "The nine samadhis with cessation, coming in two ways" is through the preliminary practice.

It is unreasonable to say that "Lion's Leap" and "Coming" indicate the "Subtle Application" mentioned in the Eight Thousand Verse Perfection of Wisdom Sutra. Because "Going" indicates the upward progression of the "Lion's Leap" application, and "Coming" indicates its downward return. As stated in the Don Sel (Meaning Clear): "Bodhisattvas, starting from the first dhyana, go up to cessation, and then from cessation, come down to the first dhyana." Thirdly, there are two ways of explaining it, one from the Dagden (Possessing Purity) and the other from the Nyingpo Chok (Essence Supreme). The first is that since the application of "Lion's Leap" has already been explained by the previous texts, the phrase "Nine Samapattis with Cessation" and so on only indicate the actual breakthrough, which is the same as what was said in the previous root chapter. Moreover, the first two lines are a summary of all the following content, that is, the nine samapattis are divided into two types, one going and one coming, making a total of three. The first going is to go through the nine samapattis in the proper order without adding other dharmas. This is what is now called "Small Breakthrough." The second going is to go through the nine samapattis in the proper order by adding cessation to each one, as indicated by "One and two, three, four, and five, six and seven and eight, having transcended, up to cessation." Then, is it only up to cessation? Not only that, but also "The consciousness belonging to the desire realm, is defined by non-absorption," that is, up to the ultimate end of the desire mind. This is what is now called "Middle Breakthrough." That is, after adding cessation to each of the eight grounds from the first dhyana to the peak of existence, because cessation cannot be added to cessation, one enters the peak of existence again. Having arisen from that, one enters cessation. Then one abides in a mind that is not in absorption. Generally speaking, nine cessations need to be added to the nine samapattis, but because cessation cannot be added to cessation, it is thought that the desire mind is added to cessation instead. Therefore, between the cessation of the added dharma of the peak of existence and the cessation of the added place of the desire mind, the peak of existence is manifested, which seems to be the meaning of the subtle application mentioned in the Eight Thousand Verse Perfection of Wisdom Sutra. The third coming is one, that is, the nine samapattis with a boundary.
