The four samādhis with afflictions. The second is up to the pure one. The third has four kinds of purity: purity of limbs, purity of samāpatti, purity of measure, and purity of name. The first is the eighteen limbs of dhyāna. The second is the seven ways of attending to samāpatti. The third is the way of accomplishing dhyāna that produces fruit from it. The fourth is the way that śrāvakas and pratyekabuddhas do not know how many terms there are for each name. The fourth purity by purity is the four dhyānas and four formless dhyānas that arise from the extreme limit. Here, great scholars, imitating the "peak" spoken of in the Treasury, explain the four dhyānas and four formless dhyānas that arise from following the path from the desire realm to the peak of existence and reversing the path from the peak of existence to the desire realm, but this is not reasonable. Because the "peak" spoken of in the Treasury is also only the fourth dhyāna, and it is said that only an arhat with the nature of immovability can generate it, and it is not said of others. Moreover, here in both the root and commentary of the Compendium, there is no explanation of such a peak. Therefore, here what arises from the peak is that the small samāpattis of dhyāna and the formless increase to medium, and the medium increase to great. If you think that this is no different from the previous purity of complete purification, it is not so. Because the purity of complete purification includes both the pure and the undefiled, while this is only the pure. The second is the common classification of dhyāna and the formless, as the Treasury says: Dhyāna has two and four, its arising is well explained. Samāpatti is virtuous, single-pointed, with the latter, there are five aggregates. Possessing investigation, joy, and bliss. Abandoning the earlier and earlier limbs. Similarly, the formless has four aggregates. Born from being separated from the lower ground. Together with the three approximations, it is called destroying the perception of form. When there is no form, then there is no form. Form arises from the mind. Consciousness is infinite, space is infinite. Nothing at all, that's how it is. For the sake of union, for the sake of inferiority, therefore there is no perception. No perception also
