Because it is said that thinking about things that have these (conditions) is thinking in a mistaken way. If the Mind-Only school admits the existence of the supramundane path that has entered cessation, as well as the peak of the practice path, and the realization of the Dharmakaya, it is because the Prajnaparamita Sutra and the Ornament for Clear Realization explain it that way. If someone asks: What if those sutras and treatises are also admitted by the Mind-Only school? Then, the Mind-Only school should admit that all phenomena are empty of true existence. Because the Prajnaparamita Sutra and the Ornament for Clear Realization explain it that way. Because those sutras and treatises are also admitted by the Mind-Only school. The seventh (part) has three points: definition, classification, and analysis of special dharmas. The first point is divided into two parts: refutation and establishment. The first part: Some say that the state of the alaya-vijnana, in which the seven consciousnesses and their retinue, which are to be negated, are negated on top of the alaya-vijnana, which is the basis of negation, by the mind of the peak of existence, which prevents the six consciousnesses, and the wisdom of realizing selflessness, which prevents the afflicted mind, is called non-associated formation. This is not understanding the way of negating what is to be negated. Then, when entering cessation, does the mind of the peak of existence first prevent the six consciousnesses, and then the wisdom of realizing selflessness prevent the afflicted mind? Or is the order reversed? Or are they prevented simultaneously? If according to the first statement, then when the wisdom of realizing selflessness is preventing the afflicted mind, there should be no consciousness in the continuum of the person who is entering cessation. Because this has been admitted. If admitted, then there should be no wisdom of realizing selflessness in his continuum. If according to the second statement, then when relying on the mind of the peak of existence to prevent the six consciousnesses, there should be no afflicted mind in the continuum of the non-returner who is entering cessation. Because this has been admitted. If admitted, then such a non-returner, there should be an afflicted mind in your continuum. Because you are a Shravaka learner who has not yet manifested the supramundane path and cessation. If according to the third statement, then it is unreasonable, because in this school, the mind of the peak of existence and the wisdom of directly realizing selflessness do not arise simultaneously. Some say that the samadhi of the final state, in which the seven consciousnesses to be negated are negated on top of the alaya-vijnana to be negated, is included in the realm of the peak of existence.

Some say that the cessation attainment in the continuum of the Buddha-āryas has the characteristic that you must admit that it is the first part of that characteristic, because it can represent that characteristic. But this is not possible, because there is no ālaya-vijñāna in their continuum. After refuting in this way, as for one's own system, on the mind stream that is the object of refutation, the marginal attainment that prevents the manifestation of the knowledge of entering into cessation, whatever is included in the peak of existence, saying this contradicts the views of others. The cessation attainment of the Buddha has the characteristic that you must admit that it is the former part of that characteristic, because it can represent that characteristic. If you admit, then, that (cessation attainment) has the characteristic that you must admit that it is the manifestation of the knowledge of entering. If you admit, then, you must admit that it is not non-conceptual wisdom. If you admit, then, those that were previously excluded are admitted in sequence. Furthermore, since it has already been proven above that there is no cessation attainment in the continuum of the Buddha-āryas, it is certain that this view is unreasonable. Both the former and the latter consider the cessation attainment to be included in the peak of existence, which is a view that does not distinguish between philosophical schools, because this is the view of the Vaibhāṣikas, because in this system, cessation attainment is explained as being without outflows. Some say that relying on the mind of the peak of existence, equally stopping the coarse feelings and perceptions, and becoming one-pointed on the meaning of selflessness, is the marginal attainment, which is also unreasonable. If it is the view of the Madhyamikas, then relying on the mind of the peak of existence to stop the coarse feelings and perceptions is not all-pervasive, because there is the case of entering into cessation immediately after the final stage of the first dhyāna. If it is the view of the Cittamātrins, then since it is a non-associated formation, it contradicts being one-pointed on the meaning of selflessness. The second point is that in the Ṭīkā it says, "The seven aggregates of consciousness and their retinues in the continuum of the one who enters into the samādhi of the peak of existence that destroys coarse feelings and perceptions are temporarily incompatible with arising, which is a non-associated formation established in the state of ālaya-vijñāna." This is considered to be what the Hīnayānists first attain, but for the Mahāyānists, this is not necessarily the case. Because bodhisattvas on the path of meditation, in the intermediate breakthrough stage, are said to enter into cessation at the final stage of each of the eight marginal attainments, which is also admitted by the Cittamātrins. If at that time there is dhyāna and
