generated within. Later, there are instances of manifesting in the form realm upon falling from it. The absorption of non-perception, however, is also generated in the form realm from the very beginning. Now, is there falling from the cessation absorption? Yes, there is. As stated in the Ornament of Realization Sutra: 'Those endowed with life, here, a monastic is also complete in discipline, also complete in samadhi, also complete in wisdom, and he thoroughly knows as it is that there is the state of entering into absorption on the cessation of perception and feeling, and of arising from it. He does not obtain the Dharma of all-knowingness solely in the Dharma of seeing, nor at the time of death, but also after the body is destroyed, having transcended the gods who consume coarse food, he will be born into any mind-born god's body. Having been born there, he thoroughly knows as it is that there is the state of entering into absorption on the cessation of perception and feeling, and of arising from it.' Because it is said in the sutra. Second, explaining the specific characteristics separately. Cessation absorption, among the two, the real and the imputed, is real, because it is a Dharma that temporarily obstructs the arising of mind and mental factors. As stated in the Abhidharmakosha commentary: 'Again, are these absorptions real or imputed? Answer: Because they obstruct the arising of mind, they are real.' This is what the commentary says. However, the teacher thinks that this is not reasonable, because only the mind of absorption can obstruct the arising of mind. The meaning of this is: Both the Vaibhashika and Sautrantika schools similarly consider cessation absorption as neither-with-nor-without association, but it should be known that the distinction lies in whether the neither-with-nor-without association itself is considered real or imputed. Among the two, tainted and untainted, it is tainted, because it is included in the peak of existence. Some schools consider it to be included in the fourth dhyana, which is not reasonable, because the sutra states that there are nine successive absorptions of abiding gradually. Then, how should one understand the sudden transcendence absorption? Answer: In the initial stage of creation, it has the meaning of abiding gradually, so there is no fault. Mind

Among the two, the formless and the formless, it is without mind, because in the state of entering into cessation, all mind and mental factors have already ceased. Some say that in that state there is mind, because there is the power of mind, because there is the power of life. All-pervasive: Equanimity and life, and those with mind, are definitely endowed with three. Because it is said so. Also, in that state there is mind, because there is consciousness, because there is life. All-pervasive: Life is life, warmth, and the basis of consciousness. Because it is said so. Also, in that state there is mind, because there are mental factors, because there are non-attachment mental factors, because there is the naturally abiding lineage. All-pervasive: Non-attachment noble lineage, because it is said so. If so, does it contradict what is said in the commentary on the Treasury, "The Vaibhashikas say that cessation is without mind"? Answer: The meaning of that scripture is that there is no manifestation of mind and mental factors, so there is no fault, so it is said. If so, then there is form in the continuum of the noble one who has a basis in the formless realm, because there is uncontaminated discipline in his continuum. All-pervasive: They are called three kinds of discernment, non-discernment, and other. Discipline, non-discipline, and other. Discipline is called individual liberation, similarly, uncontaminated is born from meditation. Because it is said so. The reason is admitted, uncontaminated is: special meditation, non-perception, except for sentient beings, even in the formless realm. Because it is said so. Furthermore, there is form in the continuum of the person who has a basis in the formless realm, because there is warmth in his continuum. The sign is admitted, because there is life in his continuum. The pervasion is admitted, life is life and warmth. Because it is said so. Furthermore, because there is the naturally abiding lineage, does this "having" refer to having its own entity? Or does it refer to having its attainment? If according to the former, then the reason is not established, if according to the latter, then it will become that the continuum of the path of seeing who has not left the ground has the path of joining, because there is its attainment. Therefore, in the state of cessation, there is absolutely no mind and mental factors, because it is the cessation of all mind and mental factors, not the manifestation.
