It should be that which is to be proven, because it is the characteristic, because it is the one-pointedness of mind included in the dhyana ground bound by attachment to its own ground. The reason is established, because all contaminated grounds are interrupted by attachment. Therefore, the one-pointedness of mind included in the dhyana ground that is concordant with the afflictions of its own ground is concordant and coexistent. There are four types: dhyana samadhi that is mostly afflicted by attachment, view, pride, and doubt is afflicted. The characteristic of the first is: the one-pointedness of mind included in the dhyana ground that is concordant with attachment that experiences the taste of extremely cultivated bliss is concordant and coexistent. The characteristic of the second is: the discrimination of past extremes, etc., that is concordant with the view of its own ground, etc. The characteristic of the third is: the manifest pride of its own ground that thinks that one has attained qualities that one has not attained, etc. The characteristic of the fourth is: the one-pointedness of mind included in the dhyana ground that is concordant with the doubt of its own ground that has doubts about liberation, etc., is concordant and coexistent. The second, the pure one, has two aspects: characteristic and division. Some say that the first is: the one-pointedness of mind included in the dhyana ground that has the aspect of peace and roughness that definitely arises from the lower ground through the door of feeling is concordant and coexistent. If so, the actual samadhi of dhyana, which is the basis of the mind of the path of joining of the Hearer, which has the aspect of truth, should be that characteristic, because it is that which is to be proven. Therefore, the actual samadhi of dhyana is the characteristic of the pure one, which is the one-pointedness of mind included in the category that definitely arises from the lower ground through the door of feeling, which is concordant and coexistent, but does not directly realize selflessness. The second, the division, has four aspects: the declining part, the abiding part, the superior part, and the decisive part. Some say that the characteristics of these are, in order: the dhyana samadhi that is pure, which is concordant with the arising of afflictions after itself and follows it. Which is concordant with the arising of its own kind after itself and follows it. Which is concordant with the arising of the upper ground after itself and follows it. Which is concordant with the arising of the uncontaminated after itself and follows
