The Nā school holds that there is no formless proximate attainment, because in both the root text and commentary, it is mentioned that only the transfer from the upper realm to the form realm has proximate attainment. Which of these two views is more reasonable, please wise people consider carefully. The "two" here refers to the explanation in the case of sudden enlightenment, and the third case has already been explained when classifying according to merit. The second is the case of sudden enlightenment. As it is said in the sutra, "the constantly entering stream-enterer," there are two types of stream-enterers: gradual enlightenment and sudden enlightenment. The case of gradual enlightenment is as mentioned before. Sudden enlightenment refers to the one who, through realizing all truths, relies on the incomparable supramundane path to simultaneously eliminate the afflictions that operate in the three realms. This is called the stream-entry fruit and the Arhat fruit, and both of these fruits can be called sudden enlightenment. In most cases, practitioners will attain omniscience at the time of seeing the Dharma or at the time of death. If they cannot attain it, it is because they have strong aspirations, and by the power of their aspirations, they will be reborn in the desire realm, and when there is no Buddha appearing, they will become a Pratyekabuddha. The above is the content of the sutra. Regarding these views, the two followers start practicing from the same seat of the path of joining, and the one-intervaler is certain to attain Nirvana in the heavenly realm, and the absence of explicit explanation of the formless proximate attainment, and the dull-witted Arhats may fall from the joy of abiding in the Dharma, but it is impossible to fall from the fruit, and the classification of sudden enlightenment, etc., are all characteristics of this school. Other views are mostly the same as the Abhidharmakośa. In the chapters on stream-entry and stream-entry dwelling, the classification method of the two intermediate fruits of abandoning desire preceding is also the same as the Abhidharmakośa. Secondly, regarding the method explained in the Abhidharmakośa, there are three: the path of seeing, the path of cultivation, and the person who dwells in the path of no more learning. The first is: those with sharp or dull faculties, those who follow faith and Dharma, if they have not abandoned the afflictions to be abandoned by cultivation, then they are stream-enterers. Those who have abandoned the five categories of afflictions are the second fruit, and those who have abandoned the nine categories of afflictions are the exhausted fruit. Those who have abandoned desire from the desire realm or the upper realm are the third fruit. And, in its commentary: Now how does one become a holy path-born person?

Those distinctions that have been established should be explained in the same way. What are the fifteen moments of the nature of the path of seeing that are spoken of? Among those sharp and dull faculties, it should be known that they are followers of faith and followers of Dharma. Those who abide in those dull faculties are called followers of faith. Because of following faith, they are followers of faith. Because this is in that, or this has the nature of following faith, therefore it is a follower of faith, that is, previously relying on the guidance of others to follow the meaning. The follower of Dharma is also the same as that, that is, previously only oneself following the meaning with the Dharma such as sutras. If those two have not abandoned what is to be abandoned by cultivation, then they are those who have entered the first fruit. The first of the fruits is the first fruit, that is, the fruit of stream-entry. Because that is the first of all the fruits to be obtained. If those followers of faith and followers of Dharma have not previously abandoned what is to be abandoned by cultivation with the worldly path, and have all the bonds, then those two are called those who have entered the fruit of stream-entry. If they have abandoned five kinds, if they have previously cultivated with the worldly path, abandoned the practices in the desire realm, and even abandoned five kinds, then those are also called the first entrants into the fruit. In the second fruit, even the ninth category is exhausted. It is called in the second fruit, for the sake of the second fruit. If before those two, one of six, seven, or eight kinds has been abandoned, then those two are called those who have entered the second fruit. What is the second fruit? That is, the once-returner fruit. From the desire realm or from the upper realm, having separated from desire, they enter the third fruit. If the ninth category has also been abandoned, having separated from desire in the desire realm, or having separated from desire in the upper realm between the realm of nothingness, then those two are called those who have entered the third fruit. What is the third fruit? That is, the non-returner fruit. Those two are neither called followers of faith nor entrants. Then what are they? They are those who abide in the fruit, that is, constantly
