In summary. The former (referring to the form realm near-attainment) is pervaded by form, while the latter (referring to the formless realm near-attainment) is not pervaded by form. In order to include the three arising and ceasing of formless realm near-attainment and the upward-transferring ones, the upward-transferring is classified as one here. It has been said before. Secondly, regarding formless realm near-attainment, there are two aspects: definition and classification. The first is the definition: A special non-returner who, having abandoned attachment to form and possessing a basis in the desire realm, takes birth only in the formless realm and realizes nirvana in the basis of the formless realm. If attachment to form is severed, one will definitely become a formless realm near-attainer, but if one is in the process of severing attachment to form, it is not certain. If the basis of the desire realm is severed, it is not certain, because after taking birth in the realm of infinite space, one will realize nirvana at the peak of existence. If the special characteristic is severed, one will definitely become a formless realm near-attainer, but merely "only" is not certain. If "only" is severed, one will not return because one has attained cessation. Now, although one has severed attachment to form, if one falls from detachment, it is possible to be born in both the form realm and the formless realm, so it is not certain. Similarly, for all the definitions above and below, one should carefully analyze them with one's own wisdom, how can one finish writing them here? The second is the classification: the formless realm near-attainer who ceases immediately upon birth, the one who ceases without effort, the one who ceases with effort, and the upward-transferring one. The definitions of the four are respectively: A non-returner of the formless realm near-attainment who takes only one birth in the formless realm and realizes nirvana as soon as that birth is accomplished, through the spontaneous arising of the path. What is that? A non-returner of the formless realm near-attainment who takes only one birth in the formless realm and realizes nirvana after a short time, through the spontaneous arising of the path. What is that? A non-returner of the formless realm near-attainment who takes only one birth in the formless realm and realizes nirvana after a long time, through effort and intentional activity. What is that? A being of the lineage who takes birth successively in the four formless realms and realizes nirvana at the peak of existence. From the perspective of the basis on which nirvana is realized, each of the first three is from realizing nirvana on the basis of the realm of infinite space to realizing nirvana on the basis of the realm of

As for the support of the summit of existence, there are four intervals for realizing nirvana. For the latter, because one has not practiced the means of cultivating meditation at the time of the cause, one cannot increase, etc., therefore, in all places there is only death and transference. Third, the characteristic of the visible dharma peace is: not abandoning the body support of obtaining the path of seeing, becoming a special non-returner, and realizing nirvana on that very support. In the case of the first two fruits, there is also this meaning, but because they also become non-returners on that very support, this must be established, so the establishment is not explained in those cases, just like approaching form, etc. Fourth, the noble one who has completed his life has two characteristics and divisions. The first is: becoming a non-returner, abandoning the body support of obtaining the path of seeing. The second is divided into three: the support of the desire realm, the support of the form realm, and the support of the formless realm. The first is: the non-returner of the support of the desire realm, abandoning the body support of obtaining the path of seeing, and the other two are also explained in the same way. In the desire realm, the noble one who has completed his life and the noble one who has completed his life in the support of the desire realm have the same meaning, but if it is the noble one who has completed his life in the form realm, it is not pervasive in the support of the form realm, because in order to reach the summit of existence, one must ultimately become a non-returner, and if one takes birth in both the form and formless realms, then the support of the formless realm must be acknowledged as the noble one who has completed his life in the form realm. Their characteristics are that the noble one who has completed his life in the support of the desire realm and all the noble ones born in the upper realms do not degenerate from the fruit, and there is no change of faculties, because they continuously rely on the rebirth of the noble ones. Some people think that all the noble ones who have abandoned the body support of obtaining the path of seeing are the noble ones who have completed their lives, and they also establish the stream-enterer and the once-returner as the noble ones who have completed their lives, which is not understanding the meaning of the appropriate time for establishment, because the commentary on the Treasury says: The noble one who has completed his life in the desire realm does not go to other realms, because he obtains the fruit of non-return in that life and then completely passes into nirvana. This contradicts the above statement, and if that were the case, the stream-enterer
