And the ultimate wisdom that realizes thus. Its distinctions are threefold: from the perspective of the object, from the perspective of the teaching method, and from the perspective of the signifying dharma. The first has two aspects: the knowledge of things as they are and the knowledge of things as many as they are. Their characteristics are, in order: the ultimate wisdom that directly realizes the dharmadhatu, free from all adventitious defilements; the ultimate wisdom that directly realizes the distinctions of phenomena as many as they are. The second has two aspects: the knowledge of all knowable things and the knowledge of the principal of cause and effect. Their characteristics are, in order: the ultimate wisdom that directly realizes all dharmas included in general characteristics, specific characteristics, and names; the ultimate wisdom that directly realizes the ten dharmas, such as bodhicitta. The third has ten aspects. The first, the Mahayana bodhicitta, has two aspects: its nature and its divisions. The first is: the desire that aims at perfect enlightenment for the sake of others, and the principal consciousness that arises simultaneously. The second has four divisions: from the perspective of its essence, from the perspective of its object, from the perspective of its stage, and from the perspective of its example, friend, and shared dharma. The first has two aspects: the Mahayana aspiration bodhicitta and the entering bodhicitta. The characteristic of the first: any Mahayana bodhicitta in the continuum of an ordinary being that is not held by a friend of the Mahayana training. Its stage is the initial moment of entering the Mahayana path, and when the training of a bodhisattva is lost, it is also present in the Mahayana accumulation path. The characteristic of the second: held by a friend of the Mahayana training. According to current custom, it should be said to be a certain Mahayana conventional bodhicitta. Its stage is present from the small Mahayana accumulation path to the constant limit. The second has two aspects: the Mahayana conventional bodhicitta and the Mahayana ultimate bodhicitta. The characteristic of the first: any Mahayana bodhicitta that is not included in non-conceptual wisdom. Its stage is present in both the meditative and post-meditative states of the accumulation and preparation paths, and in all the post-meditative states of the ten bhumis. The characteristic of the latter: any Mahayana bodhicitta that has become the nature of non-conceptual wisdom. Its stage is present in the meditative state of the ten bhumis and the buddha ground.
