The union of calm and insight that can subdue through control. The second has eight types, among which: The characteristic of subduing by viewing small forms with color: Relying on the actual mind of meditative concentration, without abandoning the appearance of form to oneself, for all sentient beings' good and bad forms that have become one's own object, the union of calm and insight that can subdue through control as desired. The characteristic of subduing by viewing large forms with color: Similar to others, combine with all good and bad forms of containers that have become one's own object, and so on. The characteristics of subduing by viewing formless small forms, large forms, blue, yellow, red, and white, respectively: Relying on the actual mind of meditative concentration as the self-condition, abandoning the appearance of form to oneself, for all good and bad forms of sentient beings and containers, and external blue, yellow, red, and white, the union of calm and insight that can subdue through control as desired. It should be added that "it is the single essence of mind belonging to the Buddha's lineage." The characteristic of the third: It is the single essence of mind of the Buddha's lineage, which abides as long as samsara exists and as long as liberation exists, along with its corresponding (qualities). The ninth, the six superknowledges, and the tenth, the four analytical understandings, have already been explained. The eleventh, complete purification, has two aspects: characteristic and division. The first is: the single essence of mind that has mastery over the completely pure basis, etc., and accomplishes the benefit of oneself and others, along with its corresponding (qualities). The second has four aspects: The completely pure basis refers to having mastery over abandoning and taking bodies. The completely pure object refers to having mastery over emanation and transformation. The completely pure mind refers to having mastery over countless samadhis. The completely pure wisdom refers to having mastery over immeasurable doors of dharani. The twelfth, power, has two aspects: characteristic and division. The thirteenth, strength.
