Is it the path of liberation? Regarding this, if distinguished from the aspect of entity, it is the same as before. If distinguished from the aspect of what is to be abandoned, there are two kinds of purity: that which has abandoned what is to be abandoned by seeing, and that which has abandoned a portion of what is to be abandoned by meditation. The latter has eight, from the purity of abandoning the defilements of the second ground to the purity of abandoning the defilements of the ninth ground. If the tenth ground has the path of liberation, then there are nine. The characteristics of the purity of the Buddha: the truth of the uncontaminated purity that is completely separated by abandoning the two obscurations together with their predispositions. Regarding this, if distinguished from the aspect of entity, there are the conditioned path of liberation and the unconditioned individually realized cessation. The former can be divided into twenty-one categories of uncontaminated wisdom. Second, strongly establishing: The reason for this is that the nine paths of uninterrupted path of the Great Vehicle's path of meditation are the antidote to all the afflictive obscurations to be abandoned by meditation of the three realms and the nine grounds. That is, the afflictive obscurations to be abandoned by meditation, which are included in the ground of the desire realm, are summarized into three: large, medium, and small, and are abandoned in sequence by the second, third, and fourth grounds. Those of the form realm are summarized therein and abandoned in sequence by the fifth, sixth, and seventh grounds. Those of the formless realm are summarized therein and abandoned in sequence by the eighth, ninth, and tenth grounds. Third, refuting objections: If it is said that it is unreasonable for the antidote to arise from small to large and for what is to be abandoned to cease from large to small, then there is no fault, because it is established that it is reasonable by the example that coarse dirt adhering to clothes can be removed with little effort, while removing fine dirt requires great effort. The second chapter of "The Clear Exposition of the Hidden Meaning," which is a detailed explanation of the branches of the phenomena that are symbolized by the Ornament of Clear Realization, the treatise on the instructions of the Perfection of Wisdom. Third, the basis of knowledge has two aspects: characteristics and divisions. First, the wisdom of the noble continuum that directly realizes the absence of self of phenomena. Regarding this, if distinguished from the aspect of entity, there are two: the basis of knowledge of the opposing side and the basis of knowledge of the antidote. If distinguished from the aspect of the individual, there are four: the basis of knowledge of the Hearer, the Solitary Realizer, the Bodhisattva, and the Buddha. Among these, the first two are the basis of knowledge of the opposing side, the third is the basis of knowledge of the antidote, and the fourth is neither of the two.
