The first two liberations are, by nature, unattractive, and are located in the first and second dhyanas in order. The third is by nature non-mental, and is located in the fourth dhyana. The four formless liberations are the pure formless attainments, as well as the uncontaminated ones. The liberation of cessation is said to be the attainment of cessation. In the Compendium, it is said that samadhi and wisdom are the main ones, and all the mental and mental factors that are associated with them are the nature of the first seven liberations, and the liberation of cessation is considered to be non-associated formation. Why is it called liberation? The first two liberations are because they are liberated from the obscuration of transformation; the third is because they are liberated from the obscuration of wanting or not wanting to transform beautiful and unattractive forms; the four formless liberations are because they are liberated from the obscuration of tasting the peace of formlessness; and the liberation of cessation is because they are liberated from the obscuration that obscures the cessation of contaminated feelings and perceptions. In short, the definition of the liberation of seeing form with form is: relying on the actual mind of (the fourth dhyana), perceiving the inner form as the object, thereby preventing the obscuration that hinders the transformation of various external forms, and liberating from it. The definition of the liberation of seeing form with formlessness is: perceiving the inner form as non-existent, thereby preventing the obscuration that hinders the transformation of various external forms, and liberating from it. The definition of the beautiful liberation is: relying on the mind of the fourth dhyana, liberating from the obscuration that hinders the transformation of beautiful forms into one taste. The definitions of the four formless liberations are, in order: whatever virtue is the actual basis of each, is the liberation from the obscuration of tasting the actual basis of each. The definition of the liberation of cessation is: whatever attainment of cessation, is the liberation from the deterioration caused by unfavorable conditions. The difference between attainment and liberation in these latter five is that the key point is that placing attainment as the basis, and not being subject to deterioration by unfavorable conditions, is considered to be liberation. Fourth, regarding the path of abandonment, the Sutra says.

This is the transcendence of the four truths. The Great Commentary states: 'The characteristic of being free from afflictions, summarized by the four truths, the four uninterrupted paths are the paths of abandonment.' Thus it is said. Regarding this, Buddhaśrī considers that it is the four aspects that are well summarized by the patience of knowing the Dharma of the four truths. Thus, he asserts the four Dharma-kshantis of the path of seeing. Abhaya considers it to be the four uninterrupted paths of the path of seeing. Thus, he asserts the four uninterrupted paths of the path of seeing. The Clear Words states: 'The aspect of the path of abandonment is the characteristic of uninterrupted samadhi.' Thus, he asserts uninterrupted samadhi. Gzhadpa asserts the uninterrupted path of both the path of seeing and the path of cultivation. The essential point is this: Just as in the context of accumulating merit, the equipoise of the ten grounds is established as the accumulation of antidotes, and the subsequent attainment is established as the accumulation of grounds, so here too, the occasion is such that the equipoise of the ten grounds, the abandonments and antidotes, are established as the path of abandonment, and the subsequent attainments are established as the path of Buddhahood itself. Therefore, here too, the path of abandonment, from the uninterrupted path of the path of seeing to the uninterrupted path of the summit of existence, each of the ten grounds is divided into four parts and established. The method of division is different from the accumulation of antidotal merit, for there, even a single uninterrupted path is divided into four from the aspect of abandoning the four objects to be abandoned, while here it is divided into four from the aspect of realizing the nature of the four truths of the object. Therefore, from a single moment of Dharma-kshanti on suffering, there is the completion of the four paths of abandonment, up to a single moment of wisdom at the summit of existence, there is the completion of the four paths of abandonment. In the context of summarizing the meaning of the aspects, both Ārya and Siṃha say that the aspect of the basis-knowledge, what exists in the stream of the Śrāvakas is uncontaminated, and what exists in the stream of the Bodhicitta is contaminated. The aspect of the path-knowledge, in the Two Appearances, is said to be the contaminated of the nominal. The aspect of the all-knowing, is said to be only uncontaminated. Here, some people are wrong to explain the aspect of the all-knowing as dividing into the meaning of the three knowledges. Because the phrase 'the aspect of the path of the all-knowing itself is' separates the aspect of the all-knowing from the aspect of the path of truth, it can be understood from its tone that the other two knowledges are already included in the aspects of the four truths. Otherwise, what is taught here
