The sign of "yi" refers to the skillful means of the sign of non-retrogression, which is the very wisdom of the Buddha, and therefore it indicates it. Secondly, "With the sharpness of perfect Bodhi, it is easy to realize; with dullness, it is difficult to realize." In this case, it is said that when a Bodhisattva is on the path of accumulation, there are two possibilities: retrogression and non-retrogression from perfect Bodhi. Is it the same after a Bodhisattva attains the path of application? It is not so, because after a Bodhisattva attains the path of application, he will not fall into inferior Bodhi through the two ways of thought and action, which is universal. This is said for the sake of understanding. Thirdly, in the Vinaya Pitaka of the Hearers, it is said that four Bhikshus are needed to become a Sangha or Sangha. In order to distinguish it from this, each of the three Bodhisattvas who abide in the path of application, the path of seeing, and the path of cultivation is also a Sangha or Sangha, which is to be shown. Fourthly, what is its definition? That is, the Bodhisattvas who abide in the path of application, the path of seeing, and the path of cultivation. This is indicated by one verse starting from "Definite Discrimination Member". This treatise only identifies the definition of the non-retrogressive Sangha, but it is not to show the reason for proving non-retrogression, because the reason needs to be derived from this treatise and indicated by the subsequent treatises. How to indicate it? If the three Bodhisattvas who abide in the path of application, the path of seeing, and the path of cultivation are the non-retrogressive Sangha, then do they have the proof of non-retrogression? If not, the opponent with wisdom cannot generate definite understanding with mere commitment. If so, then how to prove it? The answer to this is that the three Bodhisattvas who abide in the path of application, the path of seeing, and the path of cultivation have three proofs to prove non-retrogression. The first one has twenty. The brief indication is: "Signs of retrogression, etc. of form, etc." It is indicated by one verse. Among them, the Bodhisattva who abides in the heat position has eleven proofs to prove non-retrogression; the signs of the peak position are six; the signs of the forbearance position are two; and the Bodhisattva who abides in the supreme Dharma has one proof to prove non-retrogression, which is the determination of the entity and definition: "Retrogression of form, etc.

etc. indicate. Then, which texts explain these three aspects of the sign (hetu), the property (dharma), and the meaning (artha)? "The sign is the reversion, etc., of form, etc., by stating twenty aspects" explains the reason (hetu). "Abiding in the limbs of ascertainment" explains the subject to be known (dharmin). "Non-returning" explains the property to be proven (sādhya-dharma). "This definition" directly summarizes the meaning to be proven and indirectly indicates pervasion (vyāpti). In the detailed explanation, "The reversion of form, etc." up to "The sign is those twenty" explains the reason (hetu). "Having warmth and peak, including forbearance, and abiding in the supreme dharmas, etc." explains the subject to be known (dharmin). "Non-returning from complete enlightenment" explains the property to be proven (sādhya-dharma). Secondly, to prove that the bodhisattva abiding on the path of seeing is non-returning, there are sixteen moments of equipoise (samāhita), knowledge (jñāna), and forbearance (kṣānti). This is indicated by one verse, "Forbearance on the path of seeing, etc." So, do these sixteen moments of equipoise, knowledge, and forbearance themselves become the reason (hetu) from the beginning? If you think so, it is not so, but the sixteen actions of body and speech in the subsequent attainment (pratilabdha) that are caused by it become the correct sign (hetu) first. This is explained by "The reversion of the conception of form, etc." The sign (hetu), property (dharma), and meaning (artha) of these three are, in the brief explanation, "The sixteen moments of forbearance and knowledge" is the reason (hetu). "On the path of seeing" and "bodhisattva" are connected to form the subject to be known (dharmin). "Non-returning" is the property to be proven (sādhya-dharma). "It should be known as the definition" directly summarizes the meaning and indirectly indicates pervasion (vyāpti). In the detailed explanation, "The reversion of the conception of form, etc." up to "Such sixteen moments" is the reason (hetu). "The wise abiding on the path of seeing" is the subject to be known (dharmin). "Non-returning" is the property to be proven (sādhya-dharma). "It is a correct sign (hetu)" is the same as before. Thirdly, for the reason (hetu) to prove that the bodhisattva abiding on the path of meditation is non-returning, there are two aspects: how the teacher explained it, and supplementing the meaning of the key points. The first aspect has four parts: the distinguishing dharmas of the path of meditation, the nature of the basis of distinction, the path of meditation, refuting the arguments against these, and the actual reason (hetu).
