These two methods are also summarized as the collection of wisdom of the twenty emptinesses. It can be seen from the path of joining in the first chapter and the prohibition of all clinging to signs in the third chapter. The thought of the noble Nagarjuna and his son is also the same, as quoted earlier in the Ratnavali and the teachings of the Seventy Stanzas on Emptiness, and in the Root Wisdom, "Actions and afflictions are separate thoughts." Also, in the Praise of Dharmadhatu, it says, "By clinging to self and what belongs to self, as long as one distinguishes external objects, after realizing the two kinds of selflessness, the seed of existence will be cut off." And in the Four Hundred, it says, "After seeing the selflessness of objects, the seed of existence will be reversed." This is because the clinging to the truth of the aggregates is the direct cause of the clinging to the self of a person, and the clinging to the self of a person is also the ignorance included in the twelve links of dependent origination. Therefore, to cut off the seed of existence, it is necessary to realize the selflessness of a person. And to realize the selflessness of a person, it is necessary to realize the selflessness of phenomena, which is the selflessness of the aggregates that are the cause of the arising of the clinging to the self of a person. This view is common to the three vehicles, and if one thinks that one's own school has a view that transcends this, then as Aryadeva said before. The way in which the Mahayana widely realizes the two selflessnesses is also the selflessness of phenomena common to the three vehicles, and the Dharma of the Mahayana itself has selflessness, as it says in the Praise of the Inconceivable, "As you, in the Great Vehicle, realize the selflessness of your own Dharma, so you show it to those with intelligence by the power of compassion." Therefore, this also seems to be in accordance with the teachings of the Sutra of the Ten Grounds. The sutra says, "When the seventh ground has gone far, dwelling in the greatness of knowing one's own realm, it is also extremely beyond all the actions of the Hearers and Solitary Buddhas." The "own realm" mentioned here and the "selflessness of one's own Dharma" seem to have the same meaning. So, what is the selflessness of one's own realm and Dharma? What is knowing it? What is its greatness? What is the meaning of it being beyond the Hearers and Solitary Buddhas? It will be explained, that is, the completely imputed.

Those endowed with both skill and merit, please listen attentively. The answer to the first question is: Therefore, in the Mahāyāna it is said, "This is the complete teaching." The meaning of 'complete.' In the commentary on the Engaging in the Bodhisattva's Deeds, it says, "To clarify the selflessness of phenomena, the teaching of the Mahāyāna is also reasonable, because it is intended to expound the extensive teaching." It also says, "Even though the Śrāvakas and Pratyekabuddhas only see this much of dependent origination and conditions, nevertheless, they do not meditate on the complete selflessness of phenomena; they only have a method for abandoning the afflictions that operate in the three realms." The clarification of the selflessness of phenomena, the extensive, and the complete, are the same as the two ways of being extensive explained earlier. The answer to the second question is: Such a selflessness of phenomena in the Mahāyāna system, known through hearing and thinking, is also present in the path of accumulation. Therefore, it is said, "The unsurpassed giving of no characteristics, etc." It is taught as a condition conforming to liberation. The wisdom that arises primarily from meditation is also present in the path of preparation, and therefore it is superior to those like the Śrāvaka rhinoceros and the learners. It is taught in the path of preparation. Knowing through direct perception is present from the path of seeing, and therefore it is said, "Whose path is superior to others, because it is superior, it is the superior path." It is taught in the path of seeing. Continuously meditating after seeing is present from the path of meditation, and therefore it is said, "The path of meditation is profound." It is taught in the path of meditation. The answer to the third question is: As explained in the context of the complete purification of the seventh ground, making all the conceptualizations that grasp at characteristics in phenomena and persons as not arising again is its greatness. Establishing the abandonment of one's own objects of abandonment as not arising again as the greatness of the antidote is because it is a common characteristic of antidotes. It is attained on the seventh ground, because the equipoise of the seventh ground, in the subsequent attainment, leads to twenty realizations such as understanding the three doors of liberation. The answer to the fourth question is: To be far beyond the Śrāvakas and Pratyekabuddhas, and to overpower them, have the same meaning, therefore it is not attained before the seventh ground. Because even in the subsequent attainment stage below the seventh ground, conceptualizations that are common to the Śrāvakas and Pratyekabuddhas manifestly arise.
